MSI rolled out a 4 GB variant of its GeForce GTX 770 Gaming graphics card. Bearing the model number "N770 TF 4GD5/OC," the card is virtually identical to the 2 GB original, except double the memory amount. The card uses sixteen 2 Gbit memory chips arranged on either sides of the non-reference design PCB. The card offers factory-overclocked speeds of 1137 MHz core, 1189 MHz GPU Boost, and 7.00 GHz memory. It features a TwinFrozr IV cooling solution that uses a pair of 100 mm fans to ventilate a large aluminum fin stack. MSI didn't reveal pricing or availability details, but we expect the card to be priced around the $450 mark thanks to its high-performance cooler, factory-overclock, and double the memory amount as standard.

No backplate??

If only they had a backplate, then it would be more than prefect. :rockout:

Two better than one 780?

Would two of these be better than a single 780?

It's not too difficult. If you look at reviews you will see that the GTX 780 has around 15% more performance than a GTX 770 at 1080p (stock settings). Now, you have to ask yourself the question of is that 15% gain worth the extra money?

You don't give us any information on your setup, what you do with your setup. Do a little research. :)

There will probably be a lightning edition with all the fancy bonuses soon.

This will be my go to purchase in preparation for GTA V on PC if it ever sees the light of day.

I'm looking for a new card to drive my 27" 1440P monitor, which is over clocked at 110hertz.

Current card is an AMD HD 6970, 2GB ram.

CPU is overclocked i5 2500, win7 64, ssd drives, 12GB ram.

Games I'm building for is Battlefield 4.

At 1440p, go with whatever will give you the most performance at your price range. Preferably something with more than 2gb's of Vram. If you really need to buy a card now, I would choose a 780 since it has more vram and possibly get a 2nd when BF4 is out.

But... if I were personally making this decision, I would wait a while before buying a card. Since BF4 and AMD seem to have a close relationship, I would imagine we'll see the new Radeon cards right around when BF4 comes out. I think by then we'll see more variants of higher VRAM Nvidia cards out.

I'll wait then and see what AMD comes out with since this build is all about BF4, thanks erocker.

Man, if any vendor would make a waterblock for this card, I think MT Alex would be bouncing off the walls right now with excitement.

Indeed. I'd much rather have this card than the Zotac 4GB in the same price range, and the damn EVGA 4GB cards are $70 more. Shucks.

Gigabyte made the same mistake, they left the back memory modules completely uncooled. Maybe it's not a big deal, I don't know, but if you make the effort to actively cool some of the RAM (as is the case with the front modules) wouldn't it make sense to at least apply some passive cooling to the rest? They could have included VGA heatsinks for us to attach, at least for peace of mind.

Something like this: Enzotech BCC9 VGA Cooler - Newegg.com

doesn't make any difference on a properly set up case with good airflow.

doesn't hurt cooling it either.

Agreed, to be honest, but, for a card that's not entry level, and where cooling is a selling feature, you'd think that it would be taken care of for at least consistency's sake. What would have 8 small heat sinks cost Gigabyte, or MSI in this case, but guaranteed it would have been a brownie point in reviews.

I agree.

To put things into let's cut as much as possible perspective, Nvidia didn't even think to add a 10$ backplate to Titan.
