Well the stability should be better than what any of us can create, as if a cpu wont do 3.2, they just sell it in a non oc'ed pc. Then theres also the warrenty issue, the overclock is covered and warrantied so theres no issue for the end user.

lol starts at 2200 dollars, what a rip off.. that means once u add the geforce gtx and yada yada your up to 4000 before you know it. If you can build one, build it, saves u tons of cash, seriously.. My specs would cost u like 4 grand if u go to dell or hp or nvidia or alien ware and all that... i paid 1400..

Limited time offers are most of the time a gimmic, sometimes a production issue, ie we only have 10000 of item x, when its gone its gone as the plant is now making item y.
In a marketing driven culture, just look ad adv dollar stats, often teh former is true, ie the gimic. One of my favorite is.. "save up to x % off. " What does that really say? Absolutley nothing. It means u could get an increase in price.. or a decrease up to that %.
So this is a " DRIVIL" statement by the marketing department, as we no longer have the plumbline of intergrety in advertising.

yea but u can oc a dual core to 3 ghz.. what are you paying for? .2 ghz? lol.. eh ill run the dual til it's dead and go with the next thing that steps in it's place when the prices drop..

your processor will be out of date in around a year anyway lol. and at that price all the tech support in the world dont matter because you could afford a quad anyway for as much, or less more than likely than what their pricing it at...

may as well oc it.. well if you don't mind buying new stuff anyway.. but a good oc'r will be careful and won't push it to the brink anyway.. that's just asking for it I think.. Just give it a lil tweek.. something signifigant but not stretching it out.. going for the high score just seems to me to be screaming "hey I want my computer to break"... Well, no high scores for broken computers..lol..

Think of it as a system for hardcore people who dont have time/dont like to mess with computer components themselves. Generally the rich. And we all know how many rich people live in this world.

Also, they do cable management, include a LEGAL os , and setup your comp properly so that the likelihood of your system stuffing up in its beginning stages is minimal. Which im sure heaps of you will agree can be quite stressful at times.

Theres probably a heap of other goodies in the deal too. Including 24hr support/repair.
Its still overpriced, true. But its a deal you definately would spend money on if it was more in our price range...

You're wrong Benpi. A new base configuration Mac Pro goes for $2500 on the Apple site. Here's a system I built on newegg with the same specs, but missing a few odds and ends, so it still doesn't have all of the Mac's features. The watermark covers up the price, but if you add it all up, it comes to $2234.32

It's targeted at professional environments. It's not really intended for desktop use. But you can order it with an X1900.

Alienware is great for one thing, their cases = pro'est shit for cable management, its predone and it looks sleek. But the costs is a huuuge issue IMHO. The hardware is not worth it and if you can spare half an hour it doesnt seem much worth it anyway.

I don't mean to "bash" you in anyway.. but look at my specs.. 1400 dollars my comp and I bet you it'll run as good or better than that rig.. I'm just saying, I'd rather point people to my rig for a description of how to get some serious bang for you buck than alien ware who is known for higly overpricing everything they sell, even their cases.. cool they offer a quad, but it's only a 2.3 ghz quad while a nice duo core runs what ? 2.1 ghz or so, that you can OC..
