My cards runner hotter then normal if left on auto but if set manually to 40% then they top out around 62c. On auto the fans ramp up but no where around 100%

I'd almost bet amd will have another beta driver out later on in the week to come.

Oh that is a different story then.
It would be nice if someone using this driver with X-Fire can confirm the overheating you are experiencing.

I think there are a few post in here already where people have noticed higher temps. I understand the higher temps though. We are actually using the cards fully now. But I can say I haven't really noticed a problem with the 13.4 drivers and gameplay. If Amd releses a driver that can keep the temps close to where they are I will give them a try.

Why the hell is stupid Catalyst package installing .NET Framework 4.5 if i already have it installed!?!?!??!? And what's worse, installation takes ages and even overwrites existing stuff on the system, so Windows Update kicks in and wants to install updates for .NET 4.5 again because Cat 13.8 has overwritten my up to date stuff with outdated vanilla .NET 4.5 package. Moronic and unnecessary.

Is it just me that can reason through logic if its running hotter for some its likely due to the fact the second cards actually being used properly.
Add to that the fact most second cards live below a hot brother with little through flow of air and wow its hot now.
For reference the fix works fine on my waterblocked fives with NO temp increase on gpu or vrms and im back 1ghz benching with them ie these driver's Are pulling marginally less power and for a core speed giving marginally less heat , at least for me.
I too had the .net fx run around though.

maybe next time try using custom install and deselect .net framework 4.5 that's what I do and don't seem to have any problems or error msgs when opening CCC

Well I'm very happy I held on so long to these five series , I can safely say some of you missed there golden hour.
Pleasant gaming at the moment and im finding I can do a fair bit higher clocks in games most are happy at a ghz again.
I do succeed there is much better but I am skint assss and working as much as possible for more important things ie a home so I can finally get some folding done :)

Nice to see your enjoying these better drivers. I've also noticed an increase on my clocks as well on both my 7970's with factory voltage :respect:

EDIT: Dissabling cross-fire in the CCC dont work unless you reboot.

When in single card mode and in the CCC you can enable cross-fire with OUT a reboot. I hope Amd fix that issue.
