From my experience, Gigabyte boards are hit and miss. They make decent graphics cards, but the mobos are cheap for a reason...

Gigabyte motherboards are probably the most durable available in the market.

I have my VM900M for more than 6 years (powered on for 16 hours a day, on average) and it is still alive with all the things working 100% while my friend's ASUS died at just 3 years old.

Not to mention I put this motherboard to "suffer" many times (which includes improper handling, extreme temperatures, overclocking, power surges, poor quality PSU, etc...).

read your motherboard manual to ensure you are inserting the video card properly into a PEG 16x slot and not a PCI e 4x slot (

if you have checked everything and the card works well on other board, the last maybe try borrow your friends vga card and test on your board
if it still run on 4x i guess the problem from your board

That's even more messed up. I wonder if he checked with GPUz that the other cards were running in the correct PCIe mode (x16 3.0)

yes they showed me the gpuz of both cards
even my own r9 270x was running fine in x16 when i plug it in x16 slot but took display from built in graphics and try to check if gpu is detected by os and found that gpuz of my gpu is giving all the details even its running at x16 3.0

Did you try taking out the mobo from the case and placing on anti-static mat/bag and plug in your vga to see if it shows up? May be some kind of short to case?

If that's the case, go back to the vendor and say "Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!"

Its not the mobo, nor is it the gpu. Its a UEFI incompatiblity issue between the uefi on your graphics card and the uefi on the motherboard. I had the same problem with my 7950 an my MSI mobo. Also had no video output in the x16 slot, but it worked with my friends nvidia 660Ti. So i tried my GPU in my friends Asus mobo and it worked. Thats how i found out it was a incompatibility. A later mobo bios fixed the issue. Write to gigabyte support, they will maybe send you a beta bios.
