Yeah, AMD must first improve hybrid crossfire (APU + discrete GPU) before gamers will start to adopt Kaveri en masse. Only then you can kind of 'compensate' the weak CPU part compared to Haswell.

While sure APU's or Hybrid Crossfire has had to put it nicely lot's of teething pains... I still might consider a cost effective gaming build on a Kaveri that has it GPU disabled for the right (low) price, and if such a "gussied-up" mobo offered an excellent entry price (ATX $80 or less). While providing that Creative Sound 8-channel HD with shielded audio circuitry might provide something wouldn't exactly seem a game changer. Don't know what MSI might price this, but their MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87 with Triple CFX/ SLI is like $160.

But correct to pay for a full A10-7850K APU and then not see stealer Hybrid-Crossfire has no merit. If such an A10 and this mobo could be purchased for around $250 ($80-100 is the going rate for premium FM2 D4 ATX), and then paired with a 260X for another $130 that's a cost of $380. Then if Hybrid Crossfire set-up really could provide say bettering what thee 270X performance there’s something to consider. Be a nice to experiance the 260X and "True Audio" working with the mobo's Creative Sound Blaster Cinema.

I don’t see an i5-4430 Haswell 3.0GHz ($180), a newer Z78 mobo (~$100) and a nice 270X ($210) that’s approaching $500 providing the 30% more gaming that the Intel set-up eats in cost.

The A10-7850K has great single core performance. If you don't wish to use the APU GPU simply but a r9 270x and away you go with an affordable rig.

I'm waiting for Athlon SKU Kaveri chips or cheaper A10-7850K's. The current price is just to high to sway the majority of buyers. I love AMD stuff but a 7850K is $200 where i live. The newer FM2+ motherboards haven't increased in price at least.

gonna bit the bullet....?.........what does that even mean. Gonna build an Amd rig for my 6 year old son. Since Fm2+ (correct me if i'm wrong) is their latest and greatest, been hoping to hear some good things.....unfamiliar with Msi boards, but heard this series was pretty good. Definitely a contender.

Nice to see some more really good FM2+ boards coming out. These chips have really great performance and overclock like a dream. FM2+ looks like the socket that AMD is going with since the demise of AM3+. But I am waiting for the new Kaveri Athlons to replace my 760K. Also there are rumors that FX will move to the platform, so giving a great reason to have the new beefy gaming boards such as this from MSI and the ones released by Gigabyte.

Oh, that's horrible! I'll sing a song on this here tiny violin for y'all. It starts at 225 and goes to 245, where I live. Keeping in mind, something like a i5 4670K is around $330, tho.

On the same note, the (US) price for the 7850K should stabilise at $169 at some point.

Hah! Honestly, I knew they'd do it, I just didn't know when, hope it starts popping up in stores where I live soon tho.

FX as a CPU? Highly doubt it. It'd be stupid of AMD to do so. FX as a enthusiast line of APUs (as in, beyond A10)? Yes, quite possibly. Well, maybe not now, but next year/next socket, it's possible, and I'm looking forward to it.

What's wrong with the chip cost that is cheaper than the 8350, has almost the same single core performance, and also includes a GPU on the chip?

Most people buying this don't plan to run games on Ultra settings. People should realize software is lagging so far behind hardware right now. Most of your extremely popular PC games are only mildly multithreaded at best.
