NVIDIA Announces the GeForce GTX 750 Series

NVIDIA announced the GeForce GTX 750 series graphics cards, including the GeForce GTX 750 Ti, and the GTX 750. Based on the 28 nm "GM107" silicon, the two are the first to be based on NVIDIA's next-generation "Maxwell" GPU architecture, which feature an upgraded streaming multiprocessor design that promises performance-per-Watt improvements, which can be traded for higher performance over the previous generation. The GTX 750 Ti features 640 CUDA cores, 48 TMUs, 16 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 2 GB of memory. The GTX 750, on the other hand, features 512 CUDA cores, 40 TMUs, 16 ROPs, and just 1 GB of memory, across a 128-bit interface. The GTX 750 Ti is priced around $150, and the GTX 750 around $120.

I hope they make a low profile or single slot version of the 750. Zotac was the only one to make a low profile of the 650, and the cooler was kinda wide.

I did a cursory internet search for the max resolution; found no answer.

I am ready to replace my aging (and dying) 305T with a 4K monitor (probably the Dell UP3214Q).

Though I'm not sure where to buy it.

Well hello there little guy. It looks like it's got a pretty wide cooler like the Zotac GTX 650, I guess they can't get away from that. I'm trying to see if I can find a case over here with a similar layout to the steam box. I found one awhile back that had a little 150W power supply. I used to have an Antec ISK 300-150 that ran a i5 3450S and HD6670. That drew about 120-130W full load. I'm thinking/hoping an i3 4130T and a GTX 750 would only draw about 100W which would be a little safer for a 150W power supply. Unfortunately the wide cooler on this Galaxy GTX 750 won't fit the antec ISK.

Look for the Silverstone Raven RVZ01. Basically the identical layout to the steam box prototype. It was just released though. It doesn't come with a PSU though, it uses SFX power supplies, which Silverstone makes a 450w 80+ Gold unit in.

I've seen the RVZ01 over here on Taobao for about $100. I've already got the ST45SF-G in my FT03 Mini build (Asrock Z77E/i5 3350p/GTX650 ti 2GB SSC), but I was hoping to make a nice budget build that's very compact and low power, just for kicks. The price of the RVZ01 plus even a 300W SFX power supply is almost $200 here, and I don't think I'd need that much power - which is why the GTX 750 I think is so awesome.

I found one on Taobao for around $110 or so, PSU included. Just wish it could take a full height card, although if I can find a Galaxy GTX 750 that won't be a problem.

With low profile GTX 650 I did four things:
1. I changed the card cooler to a low profile cooler taken from CPU.
2. I took In-Win BP655.200B.
3. I changed its power supply to SeaSonic SS-300TGW.
4. I made an additional hole in the case for the card's fan.

The result is at the picture below.

I intend to do the same for GTX 750.
