More like roofied. You feel bad for using it, but you somehow come up with reasons to justify it.

Speaking of reasons to buy, instead of PCI slots how about M.2 and free space under the PCIe x16? Any slot under your main slot on a board label "GAMING" is just a waste and M.2 doesn't give off the ancient/dead vibe like PCI.

Odd they would do this on the 970 Chipset instead of 990FX. Oh well I guess its probably shooting for a price point than anything.

It's a decent looking board. I'm sure it will sell. There is still some demand for AM3.

It's an 6+2 phase so it's the weaker than the GA-970A-UD3P which is an 8+2 phase.

if you want the best VRM of all AM3+ boards the Crosshair V Formula-Z or the 990FX Sabertooth are the best choices. 12 phases = 6 phases in terms of power quality. 8 pahses are about 25% higher quality than most 6 phase or 12 phase designs.

This is the second new AM3+ motherboard to arrive in the last month or so.... What don't we know?!

And 970 chipset?! Makes me wonder if there will be a 990fx extreme to come from them!

What's coming?!

I'm totally with you there. I am stuck on the P67 Sabertooth for the same reason. I mean I love the board it's great but the from the Z77 Sabertooth on is where it really came into it's own. But alas I love my X-Fi Fatality and refuse to give it up. But I have got my made sole on the Z97 Sabertooth to go along with his 4790K

Not really, an unlocked i5 is about $100 more than an 8320. And if you do things like video encoding the FX will be faster.
