Use the wizard to config the wheel then in the "main controls" make sure it's set at 900°

and in the "advanced" settings this is what i use:

The settings are same as mine (sans your lowered kerb/road effects).
I've also tried it at 1100 degrees to make it even more difficult to turn - doesn't help.

When I first described it as too agile on the turn-in, I wasn't being accurate enough. It's actually in the mid corner where you have to apply more lock.

You know as you first leave the pits, unless you are warming up tires, you keep the wheel relatively straight until the first corner(s). It feels agile and responsive but yet smooth - that's great.

However as you get into mid corner and start to put some actual steering turnover into the car, it all of sudden changes its behavior and is no longer smooth. It stutters and jerks ; it's as if the lock has dynamically changed, or something broke on the car.

Test it :

P4/5 Race car
30-60 degrees FOV
Imola
Cockpit view

Exit the pits and steer left and right gently. You'll feel it responding in kind. Then get to the second chicane at speed and push it hard into the corner. Do you feel the sudden surge of grip and agility as you hit the apex?

Repeat the above in front bumper lip view. Now about mid turn, pay attention to your front outside tire - it's wheel hopping and there's a skidding grip loss sound associated with it.

The tire is rolling over and that's what's causing the sensation, because it's coming up off the pavement.

That absolutely destroys it for me.

Other pet peeves:

A lot of the vehicles have terrible standard setups. The P4/5 for example comes with 65% rear brake bias and really high suspension action. You have to cut the height, roll bar and rates almost in half just to give the brakes a chance not to lock up - even at 65% rear!!!

Gear grinding is awful - particularly on down shifts. The amount of missed gears or neutral not engaging, is debilitating. There's not many vehicles in the game with stick shifters. Some of them even have the graphic and animation of shifting, but don't let you as the driver use H pattern!?).

I'm not having this problem, tried different things but i didn't experience anything abnormal.

I wouldn't know about the setups, but i have no problem not locking up the brakes other than dealing with the crappy G27 pedals.

Again i'm sincerely not having these problems. About the H shifter, the game let's you use an H shifter with the cars that have manual transmission, you have to enable H shifter in the menu.

I suggest you to go to AC official forums http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php, because i feel we are playing two different sims here. You will get more useful help there.

You may not notice, but I am super aware of car behavior. It's similar to when a car has too much steering lock or ratio. It either dives into the turns too quickly, or rolls over in mid corner.
If you have any other racing games that allow you to change the lock, go try it on a low setting - the car will dart around like a go kart.

Can you take a picture of your Logitech Wingman settings/profile for this game?

This pair of pedals has no mods on it, so I am in the same boat as you. Default setup for that car (and others) is hard on the brakes.

In the end I raised the brake curve (or deepened) it so the breaks ease in more.

You sure about that? Unless it was updated, some of the vehicles have the driver in-game shifting manually on a sequential box, but only allows you to use paddle shifting.
Maybe a technical limitation.

Thanks for link .

That's alright; I've tried it every which way and so far the Wingman features haven't affected in-game!

I bought this game a couple of months ago and only got around to playing it with my wheel last week (ancient G25). I have to say, I am mighty impressed. I take my Citroen DS3 THP manual to the track on weekends on a monthly basis so I have a good feel of what that kind of car feels like on the limit (and beyond as I found out September last year :/ ). Anyway, driving the Fiat 500 Abarth essesse (which is the closest performing car in the game to my DS3) around, it really feels like it should in real life which I find amazing. For sure, you don't get the g-forces like you do in real life (which I miss the most), but there is no way of getting that unless you are driving in real life I guess. And I guess the weight shifting when turning could be little more dramatic, it is otherwise very good. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the 'nose-dip' was when braking hard and how the car twitches a bit too. I LOVE doing lift-off oversteer in the 500 Abarth, I do that in my DS3 sometimes and I just find it so fun! Amazing, amazing game - seriously.

I've wanted to try this game out but never got around to it. I haven't played any race sims in my cockpit in a very long time. This title looks awesome though. When is it set to release? (I can't check from work as everything game related is blocked.)

Pretty awesome game. Some of the higher performing cars take a bit of skill to drive fast and in control.

Does somethings in terms of realism better than iRacing, and that game is at like the pinnacle.

Here is me in an Abarth 500 going around Imola using a G25 and heel and toeing. God damn BMW @ 5:00, you can easily go flat out through that corner....

I need to fix my wheel settings though, only the first 90 degrees are used so that is why my steering looks uber twitchy. Heel and toeing is actually easier to perform using the G25 pedals than in my real car (Citroen DS3 THP) haha.

Multiplayer comes with next patch that will be out on May Friday 2nd.

"Dear followers,

every year 25th April is celebrated as the Liberation Day in Italy. This day marks the end of fascist regime after the end of the Second World War in 1945, and the day commemorates the people who laid down their lives fighting the fascism.
25th April is a public holiday in Italy. There are robust celebrations around the country to commemorate this day. Large processions are taken out in major parts of the country, and a general sense of celebration and bonhomie is prevalent throughout Italy on this day.

The next update of Assetto Corsa Early Access will include the multiplayer mode and was previously scheduled for tomorrow's release; our work in the last two months has been strongly focused to complete and deliver this feature properly. We have also made investments to set several free public servers for our users and a proper lobby for servers created by, users, leagues, simracing websites and so on. However, due to the 25th April celebration, we might have some issues to get the best possible support from our italian based server provider, right at launch day.

Multiplayer is one of the most awaited features for a lot of simracing enthusiasts, but in order to properly test in public the multiplayer mode, we need to get the best technical support possible; for this reason, and also in order to improve multiplayer functionalities and to develop some additional features, tomorrow's release has been shifted to Friday 2nd, May. This delay will allow us to release the multiplayer in a working day, getting fast and proper support by our provider, if needed. We are pretty sure you understand that we are working at our best to provide the best gaming experience we can. Thank you for your kind support and attention"

That AC vs GT video makes me wonder if developers just buy the maps from each other

If they don't they really should. I bet that would save a lot of modeling work.

Anyone remember playing CRC, Cross Racing Championship 2005? Now that was a sweet racing game, rally style. You could change all types of components on your car and the physics back then, just wow! I wish Invictus would create a new racing engine and rehash CRC 2005.

well of course the track will be the same but I mean the little details, like vegetation, walls and such. It wouldn't surprise me if we found out that a single company provides the tracks for every racing game
