MSI Goes For a Black and White Theme with the Z97 SLI Krait Edition Motherboard

Claiming popular demand, MSI has come up with a Z97-based motherboard that adopts a simple (but not unappealing) black and white color scheme. Seen below, this upcoming board is named Z97 SLI Krait Edition and seems somewhat basic in terms of design and extras, although it does include both a SATA Express port and an M.2 connector.

MSI's ATX offering features four DDR3 memory slots, two SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, two PCI-Express x16 slots, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, and provides D-Sub and HDMI outputs. No word yet on the availability or pricing of the Z97 SLI Krait Edition.

Maybe. A krait is a dual-colour poisonous snake, seems a worthy reference in and of itself, but given the current push by most OEMs towards gaming-focused features and support of competitive gaming, the peripheral tie-in makes sense, too. At least they'd be more "on-base" than the green-black of Razer.

Very cool board, I like seeing some different designs and color schemes in board to really change up the pace and allow for some really cool builds and ideas.

To me based on the basics I can see it sounds like this is similar to the MSI Z97-G55 SLI motherboard. If it contains the same 8 Phase CPU power delivery then I am game for this board.

Normally if they specifically mention SLI it does both. There are some motherboards that only do CFX in this day and age (Due to CFX being applicable on a 4x PCIE Slot) but generally speaking if a board supports SLI it also supports CFX (Its the Vice Versa that is sometimes an issue).

Along with corsair dominator memory and phanteks black coolers, or maybe even the cryorig ones, or silverstone tundra, galaxy hof cards, there are actually parts that will match this very nicely in terms of looks

also i really like the cleanness of the pcb, nothing unnecessary thrown in

YES! exactly! (which make my 1st statement wrong since a Krait is majorly black and with white stripe thanks @Marty 1480 )

altho at first when i saw Krait edition i though "wtf they ditched intel cpus and use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 instead?"
