Mr Recon is having a hard time I see
But I argued in the past with those recons who claim to be valuable for their team, and considered it pointless to argue even more.
Team value always was Assault>Support/Engi>Recon in that order, and might be so for the entire duration of the franchise.

There are very few useful snipers. Getting few (even a lot of) kills from 300m and further away doesn't help for shit.
A sniper who runs around with spawn beacon and/or T-UGS, is mobile and picks off people around flags (and perhaps even capping some) instead of random targets 10km away is rare as hell.

I'm not saying sniping doesn't take certain skills. It does. I tried and failed horribly no matter what range I tried. It's just that most of the people are completely useless, and sometimes even incompetent and retarded.

I play other classes to support my squad. I usually play with 3-4 people, and whatever they need I try to play. Usually assault for healing/revives or sniper for long range cover, telling my squad where I see people at a distance etc, I am not a camping sniper, I am a moving team based sniper, I use the canted iron sights most of the time up close. I do know there is A LOT of snipers in BF4. However, it is just my preference and I have always liked playing with bolt action snipers all the way back to BF2, and Cod1, Cod2.

But yes, in terms of providing Healing/Ammo to team mates, they aren't to useful. Like I said though, when played correctly in a squad that is moving constantly around to different points, I see them to be useful.

I have saved team mates, and vehicles from people trying to shoot them with rockets time after time with a sniper. So in terms of support, it just comes in a different form. All preference though. Also, I am probably rank 22 now? I haven't played the game for more than 3 weeks yet, so its still a learning experience for the maps and stuff.

I play recon with a carbine. Place a tugs down in a certain spot and you control the flow of traffic.

This is on tdm though.

I like to play TDM as recon with MTAR and spawn beacon. Seems to work pretty well.

I would say that the order of value is both situational and game/gamemode dependent. most open vehicle heavy maps (classic style) favor a team with more engis.
and the class system was different and arguably better before bf3. bfbc2 was more balanced imo, med bags for support, ammo for assault.

Good luck with FSM of 3 on that thing while not using angled grip.

Since the tweak to the heavy barrel, I've been using nothing but it and stubby on just about everything. The extra accuracy I'll take and getting used to the extra recoil is not that hard. Even with the f2000 you just burst it when at distance and you'd be surprised at how accurate it is. Although, the Famas and CZ-3A1 are about the only thing I use the angle grip on any more.

The one thing BC2 did perfect was NO FUCKING RETARDED GADGETS. They just stuck to the core gadgets which work (ie. yes, less is more).
Not sure if I really liked the fact that noobtubers could resup their own GL then though. Plenty of cornercampers with a GL sitting on their ammopack back then, not that they were invincible (ie. you could just bring down the house on them).

Now if they come at us with reduced price its gonna piss me off proper.

Hover tank, Rail gun and Bow are just plan stupid and a waste of time and resources. They should have spent that time and resources on fixing the damn game.

I think the game is playing great now. They have certainly made a lot of improvements since launch (which certainly doesn't forgive the launch situation). With as much is going on in BF4 and in consistancies of home internet connections, perfection will never be possible.

Well, I've fallen 90 kills below 1.0, for the love of Pete! Lately, it seems like if I play normal mode I'm always going negative, whereas in hardcore I'm almost always positive. A vague statement that is ruled by generalities, but it's been holding true. I have much more fun playing hardcore, anyhow. It just takes so damn many bullets to kill in regular, and the gunner turrets in tanks/lav/transport choppers are piss poor.

And yes, the game is playing very well, now.

And I had mixed up the ACE21 and ACE23 earlier. I do not yet have the latter; another reason to continue unlocking the ARs I guess. Finally got the first SCAR today lol (and thanks to Battlepacks have some good attachments for it ready). Have manage some M26 unlocks though; maybe can have some fun with the dart. The noob tube sucks anyway; hardly any splash it seems.
