PSU for this MOBO

its a 24 pin then they have the 4 pin near the i/o ports no 8 pin i wanted to get this PSU

Too bad I sold my CX600M about 6 months back, I could double check. I do believe the 8 pin CPU connector splits into 2 x 4 pin (most do), there are some better images on newegg you could look at.

Yeah it splits. You can save $15 if you buy it at Newegg also.

Yea it should split. My CM power supply did. I think it was a 500w model but theu still use the same connector for 8pin/2x4pin. And when they split only one will fit so u cant plug in the wrong one

and to make sure the GPU will take a 6 pin it most PSUs come with 6 pin for the GPU

Yes, it comes with two 6+2 pin connections and cables. You can use the 6 pin part and leave the 2 pins hanging. This is standard on todays PSUs.

now i'm sure the PSU will fit in my HP case i think they most all have the same mount screw holes

From a quick look round, it may be ok, for stock work load, if your trying to game, overclock ect no way
but, CX Series don't seem to be very popular.
I'd recommend Gold PSU's now days.

The length of the PSU is what could be an issue. The screw locations for that particular form factor are standard, correct.

From a quick look round, it may be ok, for stock work load, if your trying to game, overclock ect no way
but, CX Series don't seem to be very popular.

Que? CX series is plenty serviceable. Its not junk, and its not high end, but it will do the job just fine including overclocking (which he can't do on that board in the first place I would bet).

Is it an HP case ?
I ran into an issue years go, they were proprietary to HP

For that price a GOLD PSU is far better value

Yeah, the Seasonic Gold that you linked to is better but it's also $25 more.

Here's a TPU review on that PSU. It's definitely a budget PSU but it should be ok.

I ran into many problems (ONCE) in an attempt to re-use a DELL case, to upgrade the motherboard. Epic fail... the MB stand-offs were non ATX standard, the case had a proprietary cable to the motherboard and they made up they're own PSU size. I bought a new case and PSU.

I'm guessing you'll run into the same issue with more or more of those items on the HP, so check carefully.

The Corsair that the OP is looking at is $65 at Newegg with rebate so the difference is now $15 to get the Seasonic Gold. If it were me I would definitely go with the Seasonic but the OP seems to want the CX 600.
