ID-Cooling Releases Vapor Chamber CPU Cooler for Mini-ITX Systems

ID-COOLING, a cooling solution provider focusing on thermal dissipation and fan technology research and production for over 10 years, releases a newly developed Vapor Chamber CPU Cooler for Mini-ITX system: IS-VC45.

When small PC systems get more and more power hungry and house much more top-tier hardware including the CPU, effective CPU cooling is in demand. With a vapor chamber base to draw heat immediately from the processor, IS-VC45 is able to handle TDP 130W CPUs. Measuring 94×92×45mm, this cooler can fit into Mini-ITX systems easily.

High density aluminum fins are soldered to the vapor chamber base to help disperse the heat. Equipped with a slim 92mm FDB(Fluid Dynamic Bearing) fan, IS-VC45 can dissipate heat efficiently while keeping at a decent quite operation. The speed is regulated between 600 to 2500RPM with PWM function.

Using metal screws and back plate installation, this cooler will stay safely on your motherboard. Intel Socket LGA1150/1155/1156 and Socket LGA2011 are supported.

Sweet! Love LP-coolers. But at 45 bucks is straight against Noctua NH-L9i. Tough competitor to beat.

Looks awesome, and if it can handle 130W then it's basically unmatched as far as ITX Coolers go. I hope they make an AMD compatible one as well as this would be ideal for my HTPC.

Was thinking the same thing. That's awfully high considering it's a low profile cooler. Maybe their vapor chamber is leet? I don't know. Big plus if it works as advertised though.

Looks like a stock cooler from a gpu has been repurposed for cpu duty.

7950 and 7970 stock coolers look almost identical to this iirc

I used to use an Asetek VapoChill Micro Ultra CPU Cooler.

It's vapor chamber cooling was efficient and quiet. That was a long time ago.

Maybe you think too much about penis... :laugh:

Not the only big plus is the vapor chamber but also can fit in any ITX motheboard allow you to buy and run tall and high performance RAM DiMM's.

Looks like a server heatsink... which are capable of cooling 145w in a 1u slot... So not terribly surprised really.

Difference is airflow... if they manage to make this quiet ...

Vapor Chamber cooling is so much more efficient and compact that standard heatpipes. That's how it got so much cooling in a small package. It's also more expensive to make, and thus your pricetag on this.

Either way, I'd love to see a review on this! It has promise.

Anyone interested in this cooler may want to hold off on purchasing one.

El-Dubya on HardForum had issues with his making poor contact with the CPU resulting in poor performance. He contacted ID Cooling and apparently they already have an upgraded version in the works without the nickel plating and higher fin density.

I had already ordered one so went ahead and installed it on my i7 5930K to test their 130W TDP claims. I did get temps in the low 80s with the side panel off and the ambient at 15.7°C with Prime95 running Blend at 10 threads. However, I tested later with the side panel on at a ambient temp of 18.0°C and it was hitting mid-90s and throttling slightly.
