My original K70 costs me only 110$ and it has the same features as this RGB model.
Corsair is too greedy to surcharge 59$ for colorful lights.

Yes it is expensive but I don't regret buying it a bit. However I don't recommend buying it unless you don't mind the LEDs dying easily. One LED on my E key is dead after a month I bought it.

are you sure its the K70 RGB Model youre referring to? I had Cuz i had LEDs die on 2 K70s within a month or 2 of ownership.

Yes it's K70 RGB. I don't know why but Corsair keyboards tend to have dead LEDs. I paid more so I expected better QC.

They will replace it. I broke a plastic clip on my 550D and they sent me the whole door.

Its not a question of getting it replaced, Its a question of build quality. part of the design of the RGB keyboards was made to be more 'resistant' to static electricity thus less LEDs dying. Everybody and their mother was complaining about dead LEDs on the corsair forums and even though Corsair had 2 revisions of K70 (Non-RGB) LEDs were still dying and i think this was a big headache for customer service.

If the LEDs are still dying then none of the so called improvements they made to the K70 are worth anything at all.

But yes....... Corsair will always replace it - but how many times do you have to keep replacing it before you give up?

I agree, but from what I've read on the official Corsair forum, the LEDs on RGB keyboards seems to be much less prone to failure compared to K70. Maybe I was just unlucky and have bought a bad one. Anyway it's better to wait until there's a price drop.

Sadly, as these K70 RGB keyboards become more and more available, Im already starting to hear about a lot of issues with the LEDs Some were fixed with a simple firmware update but others weren't so lucky. Theres also a guide out there that tells you how to replace the dead LEDs on the older non-RGB K70, K95 etc etc yourself lol

Thought wanna get this one after CNY... most likely to complement with the Carbide Air 240 case I'm getting today =D Anyways, I think getting the original K70 would be a safer choice, IF the shops still have them.

The original K70 is still being sold, both in the original Corsair "sails" branding and the infamous "tramp stamp" branding. One thing the review failed to mention is that the new K70 RGB lacks the extra USB port that the original K70 had. Maybe an issue for some.

i was checking these out at bestbuy wanting to replace my quickfire tk at home (and take the tk to work) and i really really dont like the way the lighting is. i kind of frowned at my tk because of the light bleeding out from the bottom of the keys but these corsairs are nuts. with my keyboard under a glass top, i can just imagine how much everything on the top of the desktop would light up. i couldnt do it. in the end i went with a g910 since it had zero light bleed.

Ah I forgot the mention - the software/firmware is still very buggy at the moment. Lighting configuration is unintuitive, keyboard is not detected in bios/uefi, often slows down boot up for a minute, software often suddenly fail to detect the keyboard and you have to replug the keyboard to restart the lighting... these are the main problems atm, imo.
