HyperX, a division of Kingston Technology, the independent world leader in memory products, today, announced the HyperX Predator PCIe SSD. HyperX Predator PCIe SSD is the highest-end SSD with the fastest speeds in the HyperX lineup.

HyperX Predator PCIe SSD offers large capacities (240GB, 480GB) and incredible speeds to take systems to the edge. Faster than SATA-based SSDs, the PCIe generation 2.0 x4 interface delivers speeds up to 1400MB/s read and 1000MB/s write for ultra-responsive multitasking and an overall faster system. It is powered by the Marvell 88SS9293 controller.

The M.2 form factor ensures next-generation platform support with an M.2 PCIe slot. An optional half-height, half-length (HHHL) adapter is also available for many existing motherboards without an M.2 socket. The HHHL adapter comes with both standard and low-profile brackets to fit in slim profile desktop builds.

HyperX is the high-performance product division of Kingston Technology encompassing high-speed DDR4 and DDR3 memory, SSDs, USB Flash drives, and gaming accessories. Targeted at gamers, overclockers and enthusiasts, HyperX is known throughout the world for quality, performance and innovation. HyperX is committed to eSports as it sponsors over 20 teams globally and is the main sponsor of Intel Extreme Masters. HyperX can be found at many shows including China Joy, PAX, Davao Cyber Expo, and TGS & Big Fest.

Samsung first competition . Kingston 1400 / 1000 mb/s. Price $ 1 -1Gb.The price is absolutely unjustified because the parts are the same as in normal SSD. fashion !:pimp:
Finally came a little better products that take advantage of today's abilities of M.2 inputs.
Only samsung was available. Others were not worth the money. lower copper cooling element would be a good addition. dou and french frits cood drop :)

I'd rather have the Intel 750 Series, it's much faster and uses PCI-e 3 x 4 NVMe to obtain those speeds.

Ha, they are coming! They are coming!
I can't wait for a year from now. These things will be much more common and affordable.

PCIe SSDs are the right direction and will all but eliminate SATA SSDs for most applications.

Funny, they add completely irrelevant information such as

  • Weight: 10g (M.2)
o 73g (with HHHL adapter - standard bracket)
    o 68g (with HHHL adapter - low-profile bracket)

And miss decision-relevant information sucj as

For that, your wallet will also get scorched: it's around $460 for the 480GB model ($230 for 240GB), or nearly double a regular HyperX 480GB SATA III drive. But that matches the price of Samsung's similar XP941 model, and prices will likely fall quickly now that there's some competition. Anyway, the performance is also more than double, and you can't put a price on bragging rights.
