Could anyone briefly explain how does the online version work? Is it anything like the usual MMOs where everyone is running in the game world on several different servers and stuff?
I also heard there is a non Steam version and I can actually buy a cd key that woudn't work.

you spawn in an open world of los santos then you get shot then you respawn and kill cops then they kill you then you respawn then you do missions and buy house or cars then kill hookers.

I think I got the sequence wrong. First thing I did was cap a hooker.

On a side note the single player is well written and fun to play. With that being said if you are looking for a serious multiplayer, you will be disappointed. As Erocker said its the ultimate troll game. Reayth and I were fighting about 40 cops on the beach after Reayth shot a hooker I couldn't catch. We were on the beach fighting and as soon as we broke free I look up and see another player flying a F#$KING jet bombing random targets for the lulz. This game is not for the thin skinned and "serious" gamer. Its about the lulz.

Its about chaos.......beautiful, unadulterated chaos.

Missions and other stuff that unlocks as you level up are pretty good, to be honest, and many are worth a playthrough 5-50 times.

Free roam is chaos, for sure. It's only 1/1000th of what online offers, however. You can also make it so that other players cannot kill you after you've been killed once. Useful, that.

If you guys see me, I'm that angry red dot behind you causing that chaos. ROFL.

You buy the house first, so you and your homies have a base of operations to prepare for those missions.

The ultimate thing of doing all 5 full missions (about 120 sub-missions in total), in order... without dying.... with the same 4 people... That's my end game. Will take a while to unlock the missions, and then it'll take a whole Saturday to do.

TacoTown has a posh apartment where we can setup heists. Everyone just needs to start doing missions to rank up to level 12.

Only the game starter needs level 12, fyi. Choosing random in the mission select screen can lead to doing many missions you "don't have access to" as well.

Also, you want to buy a car, if possible, and do some performance mods... you'll win races very easy that way. Also, they show what control interface you are using for a reason....controller FTW.

What I also like about this game, that after you finished the mission Prologue the whole map is available unlike older GTA games the bridges were barricaded, and remained locked till you completed several missions.

Yeah, I went for some long drives to get a feel for handling and just to see how big the game is, its freaking huge for GTA, streaming in game was flawless, no graphical glitches or errors coming from my RAID array with 300ish MBPS read speed, I was worried it may be a bottleneck, but it is not at all.

I am going to level up some more and then join in online play, but with work it will be spotty and odd hours.

Anybody been down by the beach? I went to where these huge body building chicks where working out next to the beach, and kicked all of their asses.. It's really crazy at how much replay this game has in single player... Whoever you are playing with the other two are doing their missions along with you.

I have several cars and some of them are modded. Most of the time though, when I join races, the host disables custom cars. I'm level 18 now, I think and I've pretty much leveled up exclusively through racing.

How long the singleplayer is then? Is it the play once and forget type of game, or is there a lot of variety like in.... I don't want to say Skyrim because that sounds stupid, but something on that one?

Dunno man. I haven't played all the way though the single player. I will tell you the voice acting is top notch and is very well written from what I have played.

Well, I like the idea of multiplayer, but if it's one big trollfest, I'd probably not be interested. I like what I am seeing on Twitch though, but considering the price I don't want to do something I'd regret.

Try enabling vsync if it's disabled. Go to your "My Documents" folder, Rockstar Games folder and find the settings.cfg/ini file. Change the value for vsync from 0 to 1 and save.

Tried that was set to 1

How can a game play perfect for hours then just stop. Looked on the net and a lot of people having the same problems. :mad:

Hmm, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling Social Club. Just uninstall it through your control panel, then you can find it to reinstall in the "Installers" folder where you have GTA V installed.

Tried that still no luck cant get my head round this well strange mite have to do a full reinstall :banghead:

I'm trying to resist the urge to build a config utility for GTA V... but I may end up doing so and add a game save backup system in the event someone wants to wipe their drive and reinstall.
