NZXT Announces the Noctis 450 Mid-tower Chassis

NZXT is redefining bold chassis design with its new PC case, the Noctis 450. The mid tower case is equipped with a unique blend of modern functionality from an award winning chassis and a streamlined yet aggressive exterior design style. Noctis introduces a new overlay of floating ventilation panels and a generous amount of mesh to bring you an uncompromising combination of design and function. The case comes with ambient underglow lighting in addition to NZXT's signature I/O LEDs and the lighting switch is updated to allow for multi-step adjusted lighting configurations.

The floating panel design provides 10 times more ventilation surface area compared to NZXT's award winning H440 case. For added cooling, Noctis 450 features a PWM fan hub that can support up to 8 fans. To take advantage of the PWM fan hub, users can connect it to the motherboard to allow for PWM signals to convert to voltage signals for case fans. Users can also connect the PWM fan hub to a Kraken product and adjust fan profiles via CAM. Additionally, the case comes pre-installed with three FN V2 120mm fans in the front and one FN V2 140mm in the rear to provide optimal cooling out of the box. Supporting both 140mm and 120mm fans, the steel top and front panels come Kraken ready and can fit radiators up to 360 mm.



Noctis features NZXT's popular and award winning power supply shroud, concealing unsightly cables and allowing for effortless cable management. For storage options, two SSD trays are mounted on top of the shroud while five modular steel hard drives trays are installed in front of the chassis.

If only they used better paint that won't chip so easily. Taking on and off fans will chip their paint no matter what. NZXT uses the thinnest coat of paint I have seen on cases.

I don't get this argument. If there's no plastic, all we would get from each case would be a squari-sh steel/ aluminum box + S-frame or U-frame. All the gundam-based cases wouldn't even be possible to exist. Let alone any other shape in a designer's head. At least that's how I feel about it.

Yeah, and? The all-aluminum Lian Li PC-A76 I bought recently is like that, and IMO it's great. A few flaws, but the heavy brushed aluminum front panel looks far nicer than the weird-ass angled plasticy stuff that NZXT seems fond of.

yep, id rather put my $1000+ computer in a full metal nice clean looking case rather then one with plastic all over. Doesn't exactly go together well IMO.

One is prefer flashy one (think of LED, loud design, vivid colors, and basically lots of plastic since plastic is easily moldable)
The other one is prefer 'perfection' (fine material, perfect cut, non-existant gap and attenttion to detail)

The first group is usually younger than the second group, but there's always exception.

Subjective difference like this is also extend to many things (simply fast monitor vs perfect picture monitor, lightweight mouse vs lotsa features mouse, highest number in spec phone vs phone that offers great UX, technical headphone vs fun headphone, fun and fast game vs demanding game, casual vs hardcore, etc).

Both have their own merit, people just need to learn that there's people with different taste than theirs.

There's also people like me who don't give a damn as long as the case is cheap or it has one killer feature for me.

My next case will be by Phanteks. I've started looking at modularity in cases. Being able to completely remove cages that I don't need/want is what I'm looking at now, and since Phanteks has a full tower for $90 that offers that over at the Egg, I'm going to be picking that up, and retiring my Corsair C70 to the guest room.

Oh, those CaseLabs.. such beauty, such class, much.. wow.

My next case upgrade for my main rig 'IS' going to be a CaseLabs chassis. But, as I said in my previous post, I wouldn't mind something like the Noctis 450 for my crunching rig I am finishing up.
