AMD phenom 995BE 3.6GHZ running extremely slow

I have a Question
Since a few weeks i bough a seconde game system kind of testing cause i realy like amd.
the board i bough is a Asus m4a89gtd-pro with a compatible cpu Phenom X4 995BE 3.2GHZ
placed an amd radeon 5770 1GB gddr5 pci express 2.0 card
with some kingston 4x2 GB module 8 gb total
HHD western Digital 500GB 7200 RMP 3GB sata
CPU Corsair 600watt
and watercooling Corsair h55
i build up this system from scratched placed everything and connected all cable ect like it should be
day one runned beastly i must say no lags delay or any kind of crap

A few days later i was placing a sd card in the pc and bang Bluescreen
after reboot the reader was installed like normal ways except the bluescreen
i dont know if this causes it but we come later on that part.
i installed newest amd drivers and since i did that my pc isnt running smooth at all
allot of hanging and slow login when i want to start desktop login

i tough yeaah could be releated to the BSSOD of sd reader
so i reinstalled my system with new fresh clean windows 7 sp1 x64

format the disk on low level WD tool!
installed all drivers directly from dvd and cross my finger it worked
but not till this day still my system loads extremly slow
i removed the pci express card sold it and enable my onboard grapics card ati 4290HD 512MB
reinstalled new amd drivers but no success

my rams are running at 1333MHZ tired also 800/1066/1600 but nothing seems to work
its kind of anoying that i try but nothing will works
i changed new psu had warrenty changed few vids card to hhd execpt t he rams not!
seems windows login +amd catalyst seems to delay allot


with my cpu is nothing wrong its should work like it does
tested with few progs passes 100%
my system is not hot between 28/33 full load if i am streaming or downloading browsing ect

it seems that my dual core runs even faster with startup + logins

i am realy confused and have no clue what it could be after replacing some new things
unload motherboard disconnect psu reset bios CM cosmos

really hope you guys can help me out with this unkown glitch because i had the same problem on a different Asus Motherboard it was 2 types Lower than this Motherboard i have ATM.
But something Happened that my Lan card om My Motherboard broke so i had to buy a new Lan piece and that works perfectly.

this is the startup time selected in red
most of time takes from windows login 2/3 minutes
to load everything even
when you deselect all startup items
updated my drivers with driverbooster since than even the sound comes later than login screen GRRRRRR

Actually that is how long your system has been on.
Unless you use an SSD as the boot drive, it will still take around a minute to get to the stage you can do anything after hitting the power button.

i think not mate after 2/3 minutes i can move my cursor till than everything take shitload of time
little update i did not install jet amd catalyst and now windows login in 3 secs just lik it should
cant explain it i never says boot time meant windows login READ pls help if you know solution dont compare stuff
so i think something is wrong with the videocard too old ????
next week ill buy R9 3GB we will see if it works

Get "process explorer" and see what is running on your rig.

this will show of you got virus trojan ect if you use utorrent
but again the pc is fresh installed
only installed the program but not used it jet!

actually theres a lot of drama about utorrent including litecoin miners these days, so it may not be malware, but it sure as hell can screw with system performance.

Qbittorrent (i think its called) is the often recommended alternative.

yeah true it's the site's database that gives you mailware most of the time
but utorrent is not a spyware exe
the files that you download contain most of the time spyware's
maby i can show soon if i download a movie or file

but cmon this has nothing to do with delays on a fresh install
i think i solved the glitch it was ati 8.01 driver i cant run 13 or 14 ati driver somehow
some how when i install ccc system hangs
my question is i got crossfire motherbord
should nvidia never run in?

my asus bord support high class videocards but from brand's like Asus Ati or Nvidia

A lot of things can cause a slow startup, most common would be drivers. It will take a *long* time for us to go through all the options, so i'll just list the steps i do for a fresh windows install that is problem free, you can let us know if you missed any of it.


1. Format the drive - clean windows install from DVD
2. install all drivers you can from windows update first, except video card. Make sure to install and update .Net, as modern video card drivers require that.
3. install any missing drivers (check device manager), including video card manually, with downloads from their respective websites. never install from the motherboard DVD/website unless you have to.

i did all the steps last time install from device manger manually
thats works but than i dont have codecs or open GL
since i play new games
dont want everytime when driver fails have a clean install
i could remove them with tools or manually but system wont be repsone good anymore
hard to explain in english i'am a dutch guy!

i just try isntall full bundle and must says works now from pc booting with logins less t han 45 secs
i am happy but dont call it jet fixed weird cause yesterday same driver and not worked

codecs of course come seperately for video playback. i recommend CCCP codec pack.

if you dont have openGL, then you're not using the correct graphics drivers.

make sure the one you install matches your video card. really old ones or really new ones will cause problems - 10.1 is 5 years old. there is no way your card is supported by that driver.
some versions of CCC slowed down boot times, this cannot be helped. make sure dotnet is installed and up to date via windows update.

my Hd 5770 runs best on 13.4 which is on a different pc with no monitor or i would attach it.

i have also have same issue with 5770 7950 R7 Serie's old new

10.1 is not working - if you check device manager you'll find you're running a microsoft driver, instead of an AMD one. you need to troubleshoot a modern driver, not stick with one older than your card itself.

As @CAPSLOCKSTUCK and @Mussels have posted, you need to run Amd cat 11.12 or higher for that gpu. Do not run the newest driver from AMD on if as it is of no value to you and may actually cause issue with your rig. Do a clean install, load mobo drivers, gpu 11.12 drivers, then rest of the drivers. Then see how the rig runs. Bet it is fine. If not then there is something you are doing and not mentioning during your install process that is causing the issue. So we may need you to type out your exact in every details os reinstall routine.

than something wierd happend some how some programs start to bug and did not work at all
example's aida64 start to failed to load and hang the system some apps where slow loading opening ect
the driver version was 13.04 from amd side this made no diffrent system was still fast at startup
but had to reinstall my system cause of a bad trojan everything was removed clean boot fresh install
now the same shit happens again windows logon + loading drivers will take up to 3/5 mins
this is realy i pain in the ass
replaced new hhd 2 new videocard's new tower with new powersupply still nothing works
can somebody help me out?

I'm wondering if I'm the only person who noticed this: Is your DRAM stable? The picture looks like you have two different sets of memory in your computer. I would make sure that they're both running at the highest common latencies to make sure that the DRAM isn't being "overclocked" by virtue of running lower timings.

MemTest86 should tell us if DRAM is at fault.

I also think this problem is because you're entire home isn't writable by your user account. I suspect your permissions are messed up.

also reading back your 1st post ... do yourself a favor and never reinstall a POS like the one in the red circle. (i know my circle isn't a circle ... let's call it a red potato )

The symptoms sound like corruption to me, either from RAM being faulty/set up wrong, or from a hard drive.

RAM issues can definitely come and go, because ram usage can literally vary by the minute. you could have 8GB of ram and only the last 100MB is unstable, and it'd show up very rarely.


Greiver: those PSU wattage estimators have nothing to do with reality, they're a gimmick. Completely agree on that 'driver booster' software, and anything like it.

The phenom II's are showing their age right now but still it shouldn't be sluggish or locking up. Test RAM, HDD, and PSU for issues.
