I'm confused about the cards. They're alike to a 7950 or..?

I'm going with the 7930 theory(from @87dtna in post #17). So basically a 7950 with 256 fewer shaders and 16 less TMUs. I've never known GPU-Z to lie about those things. Unless the OP can prove otherwise.

I'm thinking about buying one just for a spare. I feel kinda vulnerable having only one working card on hand, as I currently do. And that's a decent deal for $100.

Mr. Genius, you are correct. Its somewhere between a 7870 and 7950. If you google 7930, its that spec but the card never came out. If you research the 7950 further, it matches the spec of the "pre-release 7950" which later added the extra shader units. Either way, I don't want to mislead anyone. The GPU-Z screen is in fact correct. I loaded up 7950 bios on the screen shot as it performs the best based on testing. It does not unlock to full 7950 specs, but more like 7930.

Those are very interesting cards. I didn't know the 7930 was ever actually sold. Just for people wondering, the 7870XT/7930/7950/7970 and all their R9 counterparts can be crossfired.

I would love to buy one just to say I have it, and for $100 it would also add a lot to my system, but I have no money right now.

EDIT: Based on the above post, are these 7870XT flashed to 7930 for just 7930s that ended up in the wild?

That explains why the name tag/backdrop is different. To ease our minds, can you provide an image of the second batch with the same Intel booklet with your name on it. Just to make sure you indeed have possession of said cards!

that intel book is LONG gone lol. I can take another pic of however you want though. yes they are in my possession as I would not sell anything that is not. If there is another preferred way that I can verify this for you guys, I have no problem complying to the request.

handwriting is the key, since you have an earlier image to go by for comparison, it should be pretty easy to do. Sorry to imply anything mischievous going on, but we do have these rules because of past issues:(

I have an odd question because I am curious about them, can you tri-quad up these GPU's since they are technically above 7870's? I am curious because I maybe interested in a few for something...

Good cards. I am pleased with the one I've received. CCC did give me some problems at first, but I've worked through them. The driver base on this PC is pretty old. Cleared everything off and started fresh.

These should work well in Xfire with 7970/280x, even with the different shader counts.

My 280x and 7870XT works flawlessly. Even though my 7870XT only has 2gb, most games are able to use the full 3gb of the 280x when it's in slot one.
I'm still very tempted to get one just to satiate my OCD of having 2 cards with different memory amounts.
