i think it will take a week or so for the pricing to balance out.
im not the biggest fan of these boxing videos. always seem to say something that really doesn't fit with the big pictures.
what about if you put 3 970's against 3 390's? i have seen in 2 way the 290x 8gb putting up around 15 percent better performance.
as for the heat.. maybe some of them are just not the best coolers. i have a 290 tri-x that only gets into the 70c area after hours of gaming or the most demanding titles. from what i have seen that is normal and even the 290x tri-x doesnt break around 73c.. that is quite a bit under throttle.

yeah it seems the few extra features really wont be a big deal for most people and if you know you only want a single then there isnt much point for 8gb.
