MSI Teases GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning Graphics Card

MSI put out the first teaser of its upcoming top of the line graphics card, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning. The card is expected to feature MSI's craziest cooling solution to date, its strongest VRM solution, and out of the box clock speeds that are in the same league as ZOTAC's Amp! Extreme. It's rumored that the GPU Boost frequency MSI 980 Ti Lightning will be set at 1342 MHz, which is not too far away from the 1355 MHz of the Amp! Extreme. It comes down to how MSI will cool the card, and how effective its VRM is, because given the right cooling and power, that 13 MHz deficit shouldn't matter, and the card could still end up as the fastest. It shouldn't surprise us if MSI sticks to the silver+red color-scheme that made its debut with the Z170A XPower Gaming Titanium motherboard.

I think MSI got burned with the 780 version. Released it and it didn't work very well with voltage control a bit redundant. Then the 780ti's dropped to make it insignificant.

Maybe they have heard the complaints and will make this one an actual true overclockers card.

Then again I doubt we will see much more than 1500mhz, still I do want to see it in action.

i do not believe this piece will have anything interesting to offer for the money over other cards, asi it will still struggle to get 60 fps in crysis 3 in fullhd on very high details and 4x msaa or txaa *snickers*. it will be a large and heavy piece of hardware whose 3x ventilators might not even budge *snickers*, and thats it. and it comes last to the party *facepalm*....

that's why I always choose Gigabyte, pretty excellent cards, interesting coolers and also a pretty good overclock capabilities on all boards,

Gigabyte doesn't make any overclocking cards. They tend to put voltage locks on many of their cards and they add 0 overclocking centric features to their cards.
The only over clocking cards currently being made are the Galax/KFA2 HOF, EVGA K|NGP|N, ASUS MATRIX and MSI Lightning cards.
