Can I flash a XFX 390X Bios to different brand, like Saphire?

I have a XFX 390X and would like to flash it to a different BIOS from Saphire or maybe MSI, is that possible?

The reason I want to do this is because I run a hackintosh ( Mac OS X installed on a normal PC) and it's nearly impossible to get XFX cards to work while some other brands like Saphire usually work fine.

So I hoped that flashing a different BIOS might help with that. From what I learned by googling there are diffrent kinds of card designs, reference and custom ones by manufacturers. I think the XFX is a reference one but I'm not certain so I thought flashing a BIOS from another reference one might work.

I checked the BIOS collection, there is a MSI and 2 Saphire ones in the DB. The MSI and one of the Saphire ones have UEFI support, which I think I need since I boot with UEFI.
Is this possible and safe?

Is it possible? Maybe. Is it safe? Most certainly not. Bios flashing is always inherently risky, but that said, if they are both reference boards or something it might work.

Unless it's a reference card, no, you cannot flash another manufacturers BIOS.

Just make sure you back-up the original bios image so you can revert in case of any issues, otherwise you might end up with an expensive paperweight!

The MSI one is not reference, it's custom. Don't try it.

You might have better luck with a 290x reference blower, but not the DD models. I would not advise doing this.

So is there any way to confirm if a card is reference or not? All I could find about the XFX are random forum posts or reviews saying diffrent things, and also pretty much the same for sapphire.

The layout is reference, but that's where it ends. If the PCB is Brown on the sides, its Usually reference. If there is an AMD Green Serial # sticker on it, you will have a reference card.
