these kind of monitors definitely give AMD the edge.. the nvidia equivalent would cost between two and three hundred dollars more for what amounts to the same thing..

the nvidia g-sync version always carries a hefty price premium.. maybe enough to make some folks go the amd route instead of the nvidia route.. maybe folks dont look at the system as a whole including the monitor but it seem to me they should do..

i recon it will sink in after a while.. he he

these monitors target the cheaper amd route.. i assume its deliberate..

That XG2401 looks like a good monitor. I am wondering why there few variable refresh rate 24" Ips moniotrs on market. Many people would purchase those in markets where consumers are price sensitive.

It has some great features, but like you, I wish there were IPS models with similar specs more widely available.

Yes, but Nvidia does have the option to support FreeSync considering that if you forget the marketing name FreeSync what you do have in fact is the VESA standard of Adaptive Sync. So it is up to Nvidia to deside if it's customers will also have the Adaptive Sync option and not just the $200 more expensive option of GSync.

Since only a tiny fraction of pc users has the gpu power to drive these 144Hz monitors way above 75fps constantly + more and more manufacturers entering the market, I am curious how many units a company like ViewSonic expects to sell.

No 21:9 aspect ratio → me not interested.
