Hello, I would like to know some have managed to solve the blinking problem on the graphics card XFX Black Edition R9 280X. I bought this graphics card in early 2013, and although I tried everything bios available and all AMD drivers, on different computers, on 4 graphics cards XFX sent me on the warranty (which cost $ 60 transportation whenever I had them sent the card) without telling diagnostics by specialists to try to resolve the problem, it is still present and nothing to do. One bios greatly reduces flicker, but restarting the computer each time a game starts or a 3D display.

Try underclocking the core or memory, it sounds to me like you might have to send to XFX though.

^That. Set the memory to max 5000 MHz. It is a very typical 280X problem that they can't handle the default 6000 Mhz.

Since this has happened with 4 different cards, I don't see this being a card problem. So I would not mess with clock settings. This sounds more like a power issue to me. That said, you also said you tried different computers too (which again suggests it is not a timing/clock issue). So you might want to ensure your facility power is good - and I recommend a "good" 1300 - 1500VA UPS with AVR.

According to the power requirements for the R9 280X Black (scroll down and click on Specs), it is an extremely power hungry card with a "minimum" requirement of a 750W supply and a recommended 850W! While that is certainly a conservative recommendation to ensure you have enough, it still suggests you need a hefty supply to ensure stable operation.

Hello, food is a Corsair AX 860W, I also tried to change the clock but that changed nothing. XFX bios can significantly reduce flicker, but the computer did crash in games.

Which values did that bios contain? Cant you set the same value in AfterBurner? Did you try to lower the memory clock as well?

Hello Patrice, did you make a ticket at xfxsupport.com? if the flickering is in 2d only, browsing or light load, there is a bios fix for the infected models. let me know your serial #'s.

Hello, I actually have a ticket XFX and yes I tried the "new" bios, which reduces flicker in 2D but in fact totally broken my pc, and all those on lesquel I tested the graphics card, and friends who also have a XFX R9 280X, this bios is also plant their computer.

and you still have flicker problems in 2D or computer restart in games and 3D ??

I have tried all the bios available (XFX, TechPowerUp, etc ..) and none have worked on four graphic cards I had, no matter on which pc, port, power (AX860 and AX1000) etc ...

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone had found a solution and if other people had the same problem. I know this is a very common problem in the forums.

Yes, everyone with the p1-p5 serial #'s have a bios update available, any other models are going to be faulty units that need to be RMA'd or the motherboard you have may need a motherboard bios to handle low-idle state mode.

Hello to begin my motherboard is very recent and the BIOS is up to date, and I have no problem with my graphics card Gigabyte R9 280X. The XFX R9 280X has been tested on several pc (7 computers), all bios versions were tested, and the XFX R9 280X is the 4th XFX me references warranty that has exactly the same problem and I noticed on various forums that I am far from being alone in the same flickering problem.

[FONT=Arial, Verdana, sans-serif]The serial number is # P3H068559.
That means the other 3 previous cards that had the same problem all were defective ??

Hello, the box was sent with the wrong RMA number for technical support from XFX was told of the returned with the RMA number of the first card that was sent to the warranty. Technical support informed me that the new RMA will be added to the previous one.
