It can cost as much (if not more) to make interchangeable case parts that can be assembled multiple ways, be durable enough to support multiple iterations, and sturdy enough to support full gaming rigs safely. The tolerances would have to be very tight.

It's like legos! This could be a lot of fun, especially if you can mount custom cut side panels (like glass or aluminum) to the frame.

To be honest, if they had included a few standard plexiglass sides it would greatly increase the appeal of the product. On the other-hand, if you want an open air case/bench then this isn't a bad idea.

They did all the engineering, modular design, and provide the ready-to-assemble materials. Reminds me of big boy K'nex. It's worth it, at least at first until they recoup initial costs. If it's a hit, they'll come down. If not, they'll fade away like so many other cases.
