Synology is widely known for its NAS products and has now decided to enter the router market with the RT1900ac Wi-Fi router, supporting transfers up to a total of 1900 Mbps. A very promising product with an advanced OS, it is also quite affordably priced.

Nice little router for the $$$. If they can get 5Ghz band fixed up will be looking for 1 @ the local shop. Thanks for the review crmaris :respect: as always the depth you go into is well worth the time spent reading:toast:

I second that. The wireless signal strength comparison using real world conditions is really helpful.

It is good if you really need such features like four LAN ports, USB ports and three antennas. For most home users five times cheaper Xiaomi AC router would be enough.

For most home users 4 LAN ports isn't enough, 3 antenna is adequate and a USB port is handy.

Four LAN ports is required only for exceptional cases. I am using Xiaomi router and won't missing these things. The best thing about this router is maximum strength signal at both floors of the house and acceptable signal at every point of 10 acres plot.

Lol. I wouldn't buy a Xiaomi product even if you paid me. They're backdoored up to the eyeballs.

Still better than Windows 10 :p

Yes and no. Were 8 port routers cheaper maybe, but with the premium over 4 port routers (with WiFi) I disagree.

Need a 4th on the one i just picked up, Silly Apple Airports extreme 5th Gen, looks like it's common for Airports to only have 3 for what ever reason though but could not pass it up for $2, and i tell you what i have tried some of the new ones out their and this think pisses all over them it's really snappy.

The other reason i picked it up was how heavy it was which i thought it was the rubber base and ooh i was so wrong on that it has a massive heat sink that covers the whole top of the unit, which left me kinda pissed as i wanted to add some lol, currently looking for some white antenna for it :p.

for a SA actually is highly affordable, especially if you take into account its capabilities.
