I just go for crossfire tw3 the temp jump from 40 to 85 then boom shut down .......horrible experience from the reference cooler

for now all cards are reference ones and i'm sure without oc cooler can handle tdp; for oc another story... we can't expect high-end cooler for this price....amd lowered all related costs to achieve this target price and we can't blame them as price factor was 1st in all their marketing&advertising campaign and all aib must stick to mrsp otherwise .....

for sure non-reference coolers will handle more but these won't surface at launch.... 3-4 weeks after maybe considering past launches...

is there any benchmark tool for witcher 3 ? at normal scene riding horse no fighting in the field or at village the fps is around 60 to 67 at fhd then when fight some small mobs like drowners the fps is 45 to 50 ( not use any bomb or ability ) idk how to download benchmark tools like on youtube.

Are you running on a 1080P monitor? If yes, get into Novigrad city and just walk around its roads. If it keeps running smooth, RX480 is ideal for 1080P.

Depends on the environment's temp. Summer time in some countries make all HW components suffer if not ac into the room...

No, that was not the case, as I said, normal environment conditions.

The cooler may not be the limiting factor. It may be down to the process size and voltage limitations caused by heat. Without wishing to discuss the GTX1080, the FE edition (with its supposed crappy cooler) has been clocking higher than AIB coolers.
This new 16/14nm generation may be disappointing for over clocking in general.

No idea, @HumanSmoke is usually good with that sort of info. Perhaps TSMC were a known quantity and moving to a new process with Samsung was too risky? Could even be cost as you mention to maximise profits.

I use a 8560x1440p set up but I tried to see if this can work for 1080, I tried
at the dock 60 to 74
at the Hierach square at night time it's around 65 to 74, daytime is between 62 to 65 most of the time

Thanks a lot friend! It seems a great card for 1080P if it runs Novigrad city so good with max settings. And for this type of cooler (blower), it is usually best to have your case closed if there is a good air flow in it to maximise its performance if I am correct.

i did a small overclock

Do you feel you're hitting or close to hitting the TDP limit?
If yes, can you check out if by downclocking memory as much as possible you're able to gain a few MHz on the core?

*This would only serve to verify to some extent if core overclocking is indeed limited by the TDP limit.

Don't use Furmark to check ur GPU temperature.

and like Solid said, 150w TDP limit, you could lower ur memory clock.

Only if the Fiji BIOS editor works for 480X. One can easily get around the TDP wall set in BIOS.

Anyhow, let's be fair to wccftech, this is what they "leaked" about OC-ing 480:

Many RX 480 graphics cardsfrom AMD’s Add-In-Board partners will be capable of ~1.4Ghz boost clocks after some very basic overclocking. The cards can be pushed beyond that with voltage adjustments. The “Beast Mode” RX 480 $299 cards that we had talked about two days ago will come with pretty hefty factory overclocks right out of the box and some will be able to hit 1.5Ghz+ on air after some over-volting and fine tuning.
