Would you like RGB lighting on all your hardware?

I like them on keyboards, but that is it. I'd actually prefer no lighting at all everywhere else, I don't even like a window in my cases anymore.

Surprised to see some of the hate towards RGB to be honest. Every product I've seen with it allows you to configure a color orjust turn it off.

It drives the price up. I'd prefer the hardware be $10 cheaper and not have lighting.

Don't most RGB products have a cheaper single-color or non-LED counterpart anyway? Razer BlackWidow Chroma > Ultimate > BlackWidow etc.? K70 RGB > K70? Gigabyte Extreme OC > Windforce > ? Even lighting kits like NZXT HUE+ > LED strips > no strips?

Some, but not all. Even things like the K70 don't have an option to have non-LED version.

My main rig is named RGB, that was 4-5 years ago, it's red on the bottom, green in the middle and blue at the top with LED spotlighting. No joke!

As for keyboards, mice and other things, I don't mind some subtle lighting, just keep the animations off my office furniture.

Actually curious about this one - how was this determined? Why would business develop and deploy a feature that most users don't want or care about? The hiking prices makes sense though... I would think that we're only seeing so many RGB products because those have sold better previously than non-RGB products, but I don't have any data to support that point either.

Its just what I am seeing with my local retailers, and this recent RGB craze only strengthens it for only about a third of TPU members are interested in RGB outside of keyboards and yet its present on the majority of new products.

Router and Monitor light hurts me enough while i sleep.

Its nice on some things.
At night you dont want to turn on lights and stuff yet you can still see things with a few led fans and such.

Unless it's on something that has a useful function, I really don't need LEDs in general. Certainly not if they cost more.

My first major builds had enermax apollo vegas fans everywhere. I spent $180 to replace every fan in a cosmos 2 case....bling bling(in case mod gallery). Total minimalist now.

Yes, I like my RGB's, I don't use them all the time, but great at night.

I have absolutely zero issues with it, and frankly I've always considered it to be somewhat the norm... where you already see high-end water cooled monstrosities being lit up in countless colours for years now.

And as my DeathAdder Chroma and MSI GTX 970 Gaming have confirmed, it's configurable anyway.

I think it's good as long as it's on monochrome products. Like, you can literally choose any color scheme you want then. For example, you were previously kinda stuck with red LED on ROG stuff even though you otherwise liked the aesthetics.
It brings choice to consumers, it's good. If you don't like it, turn it off. But of course I don't want to pay extra more it.

It would be ok for RGB lighting, if it was off by default and came with software to tweak it. Mice and keyboards would need some PROM to hold the settings, so we're not forced to load software just to light things up.
Any other implementation gets a big NO from me.

I have a back-lit keyboard (that can be turned off) because it's useful in the dark, otherwise I'm not interested in expensive fancy-schmancy LEDs. My PC is here to be efficient, not to be a fashion accessory.

RGB only makes sense on a Keyboard, and honestly i would prefer just White for that.

And my Case is underneat my desk, it's highely annoying to have it next to you.

-Xclio nighthawk color case
-Xclio 256 Color Fans (cycles colors as shown, press a button to lock color, controller for each fan in expansion slots)
-Sunbeam Chameleon (rgb control on 3.5 bay) The lights were supposed to be placed all around but i got lazy and just stuffed them in the front lol.
All of these are a bit hard to come by nowadays so I hope they don't break on me. Running for 5 years now.

I only want LED on my keyboard. It's just a shame RGB can't show proper white. Luckily my keyboard is white LED only.
The worst LED I've seen is on some Zowie / BenQ mice. Color depends on DPI and can't be turned off (it's very bright).
