I would really appriciate, if companies did something similar to arctic cooling Freezer i32CO. Semi passive operation under certain pwm values.
Seriously, who wants those leds... 13 year olds ?

Patented PDF (Pressure Differential Flow) design
By using differential wind pressure, the PDF design is to squeeze the air flow to pass through the cone-shaped tunnel rapidly. This patented design can help increase 15% more airflow and enhance the cooling performance.

Patented Air Guide with rotatable grill for preferred airflow direction adjustment directly toward the rear case fan area

Patented DFRTM (Dust Free Rotation) technology* instantly blows away the dust to prolong the lifespan

Patented VGF (Vortex Generation Flow) to increase air convection around the heat pipe

Not sure what else is patented. The dust free rotation thing I'm sure I've seen before.

Some years ago, GPU cooler's fans that spun in the opposite direction for a few seconds at startup.
I think it was an MSI graphics card.

Yep, the GTX 580 Lightning 3GB I owned did.

Also my current Sabertooth Mobo does on some included fans.

So you're saying they've patented this thing every which way? LOL!

I'd be willing to give it a try without the LED's. I recently started using their ETS-T40F as a new budget replacement for the hyper 212 Evo because it is so much better at cooling. Looking forward to a review.

The only new thing that I see here is the rotatable air guide, the backwards rotation at start up could be new to CPU coolers but as said above it has been seen in GPUs.

The other two are just different approaches of the same features that the Hyper 212X has, which is not that impressive.

Vegas fans actually have good airflow and static pressure, a switch for 3 speeds, a switch for LEDs on/off/pattern, and removable blade for cleaning (I bought one to complement my case lighting, was surprised how well it performed).
As for the patent BS, apparently they've learned from the likes of Apple, and are now patenting the fact that air changes direction when it hits a surface...
