Cooling For Xeon W3540 (i7-940)

Trying to decide on a good cooling solution for a Intel Xeon W3540 that i recently acquired. I'm looking to overclock upward 4.4GHz with a ASUS P6T Deluxe. My case is a Fractal Midi R2 so space isn't much of a concern.

Coolers I've considered

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Corsair H60
Corsair H70
Corsair H80
Corsair H90
Corsair H100
Noctua DH14


Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I use H 100 with my X5670 I added a 2nd fan now its summer. I still have the option to add 2 more fans.

I used to use H 50 but it wasnt adequate for 50% overclocks.

Still loving my NH-D14 was a replacment for a corsair H80 and was the best thing i ever did.

In my book anything above 4.2GHz goes Watercooled.

But that's just my opinion.

Ok after digging around my storage i found enough parts to do a custom loop so that's what i plan to do now.

H100 no questions.

Managed to clock a 2500k sky high on one at 5.2ghz, though it was a dynamic OC, 4800mhz base but would boost to 5.2ghz on two cores and 5 on four, just needed to max the CPU out to see it hit 5 G's.

You will see it hit 4.9ghz in the video at one part. Never breaks 66c. 1.4 Volts.

Beware though you might get a noisy one...

My pump gave me headaches lol but it was fine, just buzzed.

Ehhh LOL cool good for you I was just sharing what the H100 is capable of, but going over 1.4V will soon increase temps beyond what the H100 can dissipate.

I had a H100 and unfortunately was a noisy one, it was an issue related to the voltage.

great option, a friend which i personally assembled his computer, runs an FX 9350 with an H60i, he started on stock clocks with just one fan, then replaced 2 fans for 2 jetflo fans he was lying arround there, OC'ed to 4.7GHZ full time and he has achieved great temps, so theese units are solid enough,
also y may recomend Thermaltake's Water Series, Antec's h2o Khulers and for sure the new Criorig AIO watercoolers! nice, affordable and also pretty solid,

EKWB has launched some AIOs but the price its a bit high compared to this ones, also Swiftech has AIO's too, but the same price factor!
