Fixed Issues

• A random blank or colored screen may be experienced intermittently on some Radeon RX 400 series products while gaming.

Known Issues

• A few game titles may fail to launch or crash if the AMD Gaming Evolved overlay is enabled. A temporary workaround is to disable the AMD Gaming Evolved "In Game Overlay".
• Radeon Software may intermittently fail to install or hang on some AMD CrossFire configurations. If this happens users can reboot and re-install without issue as a workaround.
• Grand Theft Auto V™ may experience an application hang on Radeon RX 400 Series Graphics when playing at 4K resolution in story mode.
• A small number of 144hz non-FreeSync enabled displays may exhibit flickering during gaming or on desktop.
• Ark Survival Evolved™ may experience an error message when trying to launch the game in some configurations.
• DOTA2™ may experience an application hang when using the Vulkan™ API and changing resolution or game/quality settings.
• Corruption may be experienced in Rise of the Tomb Raider using the DirectX®12 API on some Hybrid Graphics configurations when performing a task switch.
• Shader Cache may remain be enabled when set to "off" in Radeon Settings on some Hybrid Graphics configurations.

• World of Tanks™ may experience stuttering after performing a task switch in AMD CrossFire mode.
• Rocket League™ may experience flickering when in AMD CrossFire mode.

So it seems the drivers were already optimal for BF1 because they only released a Crossfire profile for it.

they did mention yesterday on twitter that the 16.8.2 hotfix were suitable for BF 1. The i got a twitter notification today that these were out. Lets hope these finally resolve my downclocking in games issue, happens after a cpl hours of installing ANY driver after 16.7.2 WHQL. fingers crossed these work properly with the 480. I want to like the card, but drivers are frustrating me to the point that i want to save for a GTX 1060 in 2017

GTX 1070 or go home, the 1060 is a sidegrade at best, not worth the hassle and money. I'm always puzzled when people are talking about driver problems, I almost never have any driver problems. And then again, only some people have the problems, others not. Maybe check your settings (WattMan especially).

PS. "Downclocking" on the RX 480 isn't a issue, it's working as intended. Also it's not refered to as "downclocking" it's just less "boost clock". If you want a more steady boost clock though, raise the power limit (and watch the temperatures). Every GPU has a power limit, if it's reached the clocks are going down - Nvidia GPUs work the same, I see it every day.

PS. clocks of 300-800 mhz are not proper when playing a game. it should go down to 1150mhz i think is base speed, 1266mhz is the boost speed. The downclocking happens in less then a day after installing said drivers and i have to reboot to attempt to correct (after a few restarts it just stays at 300mhz in OverWatch. 16.7.2 puts forth proper clocks according to GPU Z and CAM overlay

and a GTX 1070? if you have read any of my threads recently, i cant afford a $700 CAN card...the RX 480 was $405 CAN taxes inc and that was alot of selling computer components to make that happen

Man I'm not remembering every shit I read (and I think I even skipped that).
If you have such bad issues, maybe RMA or fix the driver issues - I mean it's impossible the beta drivers work for so many people and not for you. Can't be. Maybe the bios of the card is bad, just another idea.

I dont understand why you would say "fix the driver issues" when i already said i have been trying every driver since 16.7.2 lol. Many others with R9 300 series have problems with Crimson as well, just google it lol

The bios can be the reason to that, because it simply doesn't work with newer drivers. I would call the support, Sapphire support isn't bad.

PS.
I would try fixing the issue with WattMan until then. Also check if "economy" or whatever that power saving mode is called is on - and disable it.

This. Have you turned off Power Efficiency in the Control Panel? Mine does wacky clocks with it on.

it defaults to off in settings. Same with Compatibility mode, set to off. Made an support ticket with Saphhire, will see where that goes

Odd. I installed these and mine was On. Rest of my settings were the same. I just uninstall and reinstall no DDU.

so i have to RMA the card and i know of Sapphire's less then great RMA procedure. Luckily Canada Computers have extended me a courtesy warranty and will handle RMA on my behalf.
