OFFICIAL Battlefield 1 (Discussion)

Just DLed it and loving it, but I'm getting a lot of crashes. So is this game cpu intensive? I might have to drop the clocks a little
Yes extremely. Lots of physics (debris, holes) etc. you need a stable clock for 100% CPU usage.

Now that I actually have the anti tank gun unlocked, it makes tanks a bit easier to deal with. However, still a major PITA the fact that I can hit one, reload my rocket, and halfway through they've spun around and know exactly where I am and kill me. The fact I have to be completely prone to shoot the anti-tank gun is ridiculous IMO.

Also yeah shotguns are completely hit or miss. But it reminded me of why i was always a shotgunner in the other games and why I will likely just continue to use it. Hopefully they give the medic a shotgun, IIRC that was what I used to play and was great at it (when medic had paddles and revives were easy).

I was having a lot less trouble with revives yesterday, i think in final release it will work fine.

Think we broke the thread. haha.
I guess the British were black now too......

Next time yall step correct.

I guess I'll be buying the season pass and all that shit. Need to find a squad of people to play with rather than randoms. That is, if Origin can even show other people online for me. I added a friend and it would show him offline even though we were both playing. Didn't get his invites to games - but we found a server and he was able to get into it with me. Makes no sense; apparently a HUGE problem for origin that has been going on forever.

Just release the shit on Steam and don't make me deal with your shitty client please.

Im definitely gonna buy the season pass, the shit they did for consoles this time around is what ive needed from an FPS for a while.

You have to understand that the developer is from Captain Sweeden's country.

The TPU teamspeak will have people on at release. If you want to squad up, voip is the way to go.

You have to enable Origin overlay to meet comrades. I really want to give it try with all of you!

Could be your nano overheating.

For me, it reminded me of CoD2 when 'boomsticks' were first introduced. they were so easy to use, especially if you were the 'run and gun' or rushing types. you could get up real close before firing and pretty much making it a single hit kill weapon. Back then maps were also a lot bigger and bit more open too. I think the was a lot of hate among the community against folk who chose to use the shotgun in CoD2 :p I know i got a lot of hate from the clan i used to be apart of for that :p

It still takes skill to shotgun. if youre not close enough then you wont do the full damage, if you bump into someone and miss or fail to kill with your first shot then its going to be another 3 seconds before you can fire again and by that time youre probably dead as the guy your trying to kill has an automatic weapon of sorts

I said I wouldn't pre-order, but I miss it already!
I can't speak enough about how much this reminds me of bc2, I think that it has the potential (admittedly a year or two after release) to be the best battlefield yet.
I'm going to keep an eye out for deals I guess.

I missed playing it yesterday :( I already got it pre-ordered but not from origin, they are charging way too much.

Is the best deal to preorder still GMG 12% off?

Just installed BF4 to play in anticipation. Now I remember why I didn't play it. This stupid fucking system of the menu/lobby/etc being online.

People are going to complain badly about the hit reg. It was bad in the beta and I seen some say (don't know if true) that the beta was an old building (again).

I want what some of you are on saying that you've not had this much fun since BC2. Maybe it was the map, but BF1 bored the crap out of me. If I wasn't playing with a friend, I had to force myself to keep playing it. Even the random pubs that I played with (and there was quite a few) were not able to want to me to keep playing.

With all that said, yes I'm going to play it. Planning on using Origin Access for a month and see how it goes. I've got plans to get a server, but looks like the Prcon forums are hinting at the idea that there's not going to be Procon in BF1 like in the past and that on the PC you're going to get the console admin experience......great. Thanks DICE! :nutkick:

If this turns out to be true, seen this coming from a mile away from last year. It's only down hill from here.

Hit reg was fine for me in the beta, other than the occasional bug (which were pretty obvious)
I don't know about others, but I think the gunplay is a lot better than its been in a long time. I actually feel i have to change classes in certain situations, in bf4 you can run pretty much any class and spec it out for what you need. That is not a good thing.
Im also very glad to see real destruction again instead of gimmicks and "lolvolution"
In the beta you had to keep moving on objectives, sitting anywhere got boring really quick.
If dice can fix the major bugs, especially in the menues, I think this will be a worthwhile release. Balance will come with time, just like every battlefield.
Also, no more bullsh!t gadgets.

That's quite a statement seeing how so few guns and gadgets were in the beta. Also DICE fixing major bugs? Yea that's never been high on their priority list. Hit box still bugged when vaulting? Been there since BF3 and still not fixed. There's still bugs in BF4 that have their source in BC2 and those have not been fixed yet. So, don't get your hopes up.

On a side, everyone should be concerned about Procon not being in BF1 because it will (probably) mean no auto ping kickers. Got someone in the server with 300+ ping and no admin around to kick them? Too bad.

I ordered the game last night. Though invited to beta I passed as BF4 kinda killed it for me but I've been watching beta game play videos and I must admit it looks like awesome fun.

apart from some balancing issues & odd bugs id say the beta went very well. On a positive note, i didnt encounter any hackers on the servers i played on though what i did encounter was bendy bullets again and moments where you'd go from 90 health to 0 in less then a blink of an eye even though I had killed the person who was shooting at me -- these bugs plagued BF4 for a while

Nice, but I think my recommended spec's for Ultra 1080p /1440p High FPS/Hz are better:

16 GB Ram DDR4 3000 or better
GTX 1070 / 980 Ti / 980 - RX 480 / Fury X / Fury / R9 390(X) or better (for 1440p)
