Add it to the drawbacks - the rubber gets wrecked pretty quickly, it's not a durable material at all.

Add it to the drawbacks - the rubber gets wrecked pretty quickly, it's not a durable material at all.

Unfortunately, I can only get so much time with each mouse before I have to move on to the next one, during testing, I had no problems with any of the materials and the review reflects this. Obviously, it would be nice to use it as you folks would for a good 8months non stop, but it just isn't viable.

This is why we have these forums though, you can let people know about your experiences and others can read them, if multiple people agree with you, then it is all here for everyone to see!

Long time proud Sensei user. But... about year ago, when got luck to test new Zowie EC1-A, i realised, Zowie = win.

Maybe not depends at all i think... my Sensei had serious problems with paint. That paint quality were just ridiculous for an $80 mouse.

look that paint quality... http://images.akamai.steamuserconte...304/EC737AF1AF384FD4BB5AB7B8863197DA5275EF2E/

Aaah, some excellent mice in that photo though! That Sensei looks like it has gone through a washing machine

For a hundred bucks I'll buy a G403 wireless wich has even better sensor, and is lighter while being, you know, wireless. No need for that gimmicky screen which in my opinion looks awful.

It's obvious that where You keep Your thumb it will sometimes get heavily rubbed. That's why such soft material, as rubber, is not a good idea to have it there.

i would much more prefer less gimmicks and lower price for what basically looks like a good mouse overall.

I have had many mice with a rubber part there, I have never had a problem with it at all, I certainly haven't seen it like that, that is crazy!

the 3360 is just the public release of the 3366, the sensor for our purposes are the same.

i think it also depends on the way the user "uses" the device. not everyone handles things the same way.

yeah, of course, but that is serious wear, I would not be happy with that personally (which is why I mentioned contacting SteelSeries) it almost looks like it has been scratched at rather than just being rubbed (I am not insinuating this has happened, I would imagine your friend wouldn't be as peeved if he had damaged it on purpose!)

I will keep an eye out on the other forums I frequent to see if I see a trend in this happening.

they're actually not. technically speaking, 3360 has higher jitter at high dpi settings. it might not be any different to anyone using dpi settings up to 1600, but still..

That is why I said for our purpose =) there are some minor differences, to enable Logitech to keep it as their baby, but there is very little in it.

I was considering the Steel Series Rival mice at one point but it seems the rubber grips have been a common issue on every version of the Rival.
If they would do away with the rubber grips it would be a much better mouse IMO

I have this mouse and that is not true at all. Its not a dildo, its a mouse.

Rival 700 has no rubber side (it's nicely textured plastic).

Your friend mouse is Rival 300, which has questionable rubber especially the early batch.
General consensus Rival 700 has much better build quality and material than 300.

Long time proud Sensei user. But... about year ago, when got luck to test new Zowie EC1-A, i realised, Zowie = win.
Just want to say that Zowie has quite few problems too like click latency, hard click (on Huano switches), slow adoption of new sensor, and those flawed 24 notch scroll wheel.

pretty neat mouse.
It'll be great mouse (sensor, material, crispy click, side button placement, cables) if not because:
1. At 135g it's too heavy. On fps game with low sensivity (which is preferable) your arm will tired fast. In era where the competition has sub 90g palm grip mouse or 100g+ wireless one, that's sad.
2. A little bit problematic. Sometimes it's nitpicking USB port and its software also has trouble with specific macro.
3. The jagged back kinda weird for my hand. Overall shape wise it's almost as good as DeathAdder but not quite there yet.
4. Expensive af.

Alternatively there's Rival 500. It's like 700 but has no oled / vibrator, has tons of extra buttons, and also cheaper. Sadly it's only 5g~ lighter.

For a hundred bucks I'll buy a G403 wireless wich has even better sensor, and is lighter while being, you know, wireless. No need for that gimmicky screen which in my opinion looks awful.
3360 is basically 'export' variant of 3366. Apparently the same goes for 3389.
Jitter on high dpi is because of the implementation of said sensor by the mouse engineer themselves not really fault of the sensor.
But as far as I know, 3360/3389 mice even when it has jitter it's only noticeable on really high dpi like 5000dpi or higher. Which is pretty unusable for most people.

Meanwhile I agree with G403 sentiment, G403 has questionable QC (rattle, uneven clicks, some people even report body bending) and build quality (bad mousefeets and stiff cable - zowie and razer much better here)
If you think you won't have problem with build quality issues, you could try buy two or three at once and hope one of them is good and return the others.

Long story short in mouse world nothing perfect :D

Lots of text :D

it is actually a rubber, but not the same as what is shown on his picture. iirc, it is double injected rubber or something like that (I wrote the review a while back and quite honestly can't remember now)

there just isnt a $100 worth of mouse there.... if they hadnt included that ridiculous LED screen, they could have reduced costs by a decent bit, possibly even 20%.

Yeah... about Huano switches i can confirm. But that was some few years ago, before Zowie became part of BenQ. Now Zowie use nice Omron switches.
But the sensor of EC1-A... and the way Zowie implemented Avago ADNS-3310, it's just great.
Aim in the FPS shooter never was so easy before

Yeah... about Huano switches i can confirm. But that was some few years ago, before Zowie became part of BenQ. Now Zowie use nice Omron switches.
But the sensor of EC1-A... and the way Zowie implemented Avago ADNS-3310, it's just great.
Aim in the FPS shooter never was so easy before

At the moment, the problem with Zowie is availability. Stock levels have been very low and it is hitting them hard.

Just curious, did you verify the claimed 90g weight? I've heard that it's a heavy mouse, but 90g is pretty light.
Ooops, I listed the weight twice, it is 135g not 90g!. I will edit that and delete the second weight =) Thanks!
