AOC Announces the AGON AG352QCX 35-inch Curved Gaming Monitor

AOC today announced availability of the AGON AG352QCX, its premium 35-inch curved gaming monitor. The monitor features a VA (vertical alignment) ultra-wide display panel with 2560 x 1080 pixels resolution, 4 ms response time, 2000:1 contrast-ratio, and a staggering 200 Hz refresh-rate. Its gaming credentials are further bolstered with support for AMD FreeSync technology. The monitor takes input from DisplayPort 1.2a (needed for FreeSync), HDMI 2.0, and D-Sub. Other features include a 4-port USB 3.0 hub, a headset stand, and 5W stereo speakers. Expect this monitor to be priced around the $600 mark.

Might be a bit harsh but to me this reads:

The monitor features a VA (vertical alignment) ultra-wide display panel with borderline adequate pixel density, response times ranging from 4 to 60 ms, a 2000:1 contrast-ratio, and a staggering 200 Hz refresh-rate the monitor can't keep up with.

yeah needs to be 3440x1440 but then it couldn't be 200hz.

So they upped the hz to lowered the res. they have a 3440x1440 with 100hz or maybe only 60hz

I am waiting for 3440x1440 @ 144hz and enough power in the case to run it

Nice monitor, good accessories, poor resolution bothers me. Well definitely I will stay on HP ENVY34c. I have long been playing on 60 Hz and I have no problems with FPS lag is occurring at the net connections and servers.

I recently purchased an AOC AGON. A 1440p IPS 165Hz one. Unfortunately for some reason AOC monitor stands still require screws, and the screws AOC had put in the box were the wrong diameter. I was so shocked by this that I packed the thing up and sent it back straight away. How bad does your quality control need to be to not pick up on the fact that the screws are the wrong size? Shocking!

F*** me, 1080p.... I dont think they understand their market very well when I see them release products like this :S At least 1440p. Noone in their right mind would that much for a 1080p screen (eventhough its wide.) 1440p I can completely understand and they could charge way more for it. People who goes for ultrawide +144hz screens are money spenders and entusiasts and both want 1440p.

It would have taken only ONE test of they product for them to solve this problem... Embarassing!

For this diagonal size, 1440p should be a minimum. And you can go up to 120Hz, no issues. Anything above is pretty useless anyways...

for that size, a 1440p panel is very good, but better it should be 2160p ( which no company made a 21:9 @ 2160p )

The fastest 21:9 1440p I saw is 100Hz with FreeSync, by Samsung.. It's a nice panel indeed with QuantumDot lighting to allow HDR and improved color accuracy... just need to bump it a little higher to at least 120 and it will be perfect...

I saw that before, very good indeed...

but Samsung's one looks better & cheaper also, thought a little bit lower resolution with smaller size ( 1440p for the samsung vs. 1600p for LG's )

- Quantum Dot backlighting with 125% sRGB coverage ( vs. over 99% for LG )
- 100Hz Free Sync ( vs. 75Hz for LG )

- 3000:1 contrast ratio ( vs. 1000:1 for LG )
- $999 ( vs. $1499 for LG )

But LG also has Type-C connection with Power Delivery feature...

Details are still not clear about both and Samsung's one is not released yet and I couldn't find any whitepaper for either...

LG: 10bits (8bit+FRC), 1.07B
Samsung: 8bpc colors (16.7M) ...

And the only REAL problem I have with the AOC display is also the color depth being 8bpc

For the resolution whiner bitches here... 35" 21:9 1080p ~= 27" 16:9 1080p ... which is perfectly fine resolution... so when you add few same size pixels to the left and right, it suddely becomes unbearable? GTFO!

(not to mention 95% of you don't even own a system that could run AAA titles @ 21:9 1440p picture with Ultra settings @ 200Hz... not even close)
