OFFICIAL Battlefield 1 (Discussion)

Personally I like the Selbstlader as my top choice, the Mondragon is slightly better but it comes at a reduced ammo capacity which I would rather have since you can down quite a few people with the Selbstlader. However if your going into CQB, I prefer the M1907 since it comes automatic and while it does reduced damage compared to the others you can spray shots easier with it.

Anyone tried the level 10 sniper unlock the Martini Henry?
I have and kicking as... With it. Most of the time is just 1 shot 1 kill but be sure not to miss :) i love the black powder sound on that one shot.. BOOM !!! Clinkkkk !!! Dead

So, I'm the only one who uses the Rigotti?

It's most def not one shot one kill. Elsewhere I read it's a clear 3-4 shot kill. Sure one shot head shot or two for the chest at good range but no way is it sniper level damage. It's pretty useless up close, loses out to all assault class guns.
The Level 10 medic weapon is worse IMO. 5 round magazine but fast firing and no sight. Now I've reached L10 medic I think I'll abandon the class. Medic class isn't suited to the way the game is meant to be played. Storming caps requires faster short to close range weapons. I lose practically every one on one with assault and support classes. I lose to snipers at range and can't damage vehicles if I equip medic gear. Noticed fewer people playing medics now, probably for same reason. Frankly medics should get a lot more for revives. It's their purpose after all.

Lol i was called that in bfh. Since i really kicked as.. there.. Like ... 165-34. I was using the Fal rifle Op till they nerfed

I have yet to find the class or weapon that fits my play style.

Finally unlocked it last night, yep its exactly as I thought it would be with 1 shot kills like crazy. Only complaint I have is it sucks at range (Not because of the lack of a scope mind you) because the bullet travel time. Definitely an awesome weapon, will be using it alot. Now to finish unlocking all the rest of the level 10 weapons starting with the support class.

I have yet to find the class or weapon that fits my play style.
What is your normal play style?

I have heard the same thing about that weapon. Have only seen it a couple of times in game and most people say it pretty much sucks... Seem that half the LVL 10 guns are OP at least in some way and the other half just suck (Though I have heard very little talk about the Support one so I am going for that one next). Most people I talk with say the Assault class level 10 Hellreigel is the best Automatic weapon in the game.

He runs around screaming like a girl until he gets shot. He needs Contra's spread rifle and a way to spin around non-stop.
if you say so... is because you have seen that girl running and screaming???

Yes, yes I have. I have to hear it on my headphones in teamspeak too.

But in all honesty, Mailman has yet to find the class he likes best, so choosing a weapon is rather difficult. his play style switches form one moment to the next, like that screaming girl's emotions.

I have now found out why I didn't get on well playing medic. Level zero support owns Level 10 medic. Airburst is stupidly OP as well. Having seen the difference after 25 hours plus as medic and 2 hours as support - it's terrible how poorly medics are treated. Also explains why fewer people are playing them for sure. Though, in all fairness, I enjoyed gaming as support - felt less like a chore and more like fun. Moral of BF1 - it doesn't pay to be helpful.

i always do good as medic when i play with my friends, cuz i get behind them no so far and play as spotter for them. i dont have the med crate but the med bags and are more efficient when youre on the move with your squad.
almost all the time i get leading as top squad score or meds or revives. Mondragon sniper or the selbstlader and stay close to your squad. Dont play hero and try to get kills with medic class unless youre in range to kill without getting killed(IMO)

I had this close one earlier this week:

You definitely need to suit your own style, but medic guns are statistically superior in nearly every way. The airburst is OP though.

Anyone with a 1070@1440p find some BF1 maps to be extremely laggy? I heard there was memory leak bugs. When i say laggy I mean microstuttering really badly.... At first i thought it was because my 970s only had 3.5GB ram and BF1 wanted more on some maps to play on ultra. But ive since upgraded to a 1070 and the microstuttering is still there though not as bad. It only happens on SOME maps though.

THere has to be someone out there who is experiencing a similar thing

I see you are on Windows 7. As I posted earlier in this thread, there were a few unplayable maps for me on Windows 7, I switched to Windows 10 and everything is smooth as butter. I don't think the 1070 is the culprit.

Pretty much. I used to run a lot of support in BF4. The SAW was my baby. All these weapons feel so much different now. I'm having an issue finding what works for me. I do well sniping BUT snipers contribute jack to flags and assault runs out of ammo to damn fast. Medic I like but I cant seem to kill a damn thing with the weapons. Support doesn't suppress like it did in BF4 so you need a LOT of ammo. Burst fire doesn't have the same mechanics. Ill find a weapon and class eventually but right now I just play whatever the squad needs. Last night with Highway, Reayth I was rocking top of the scoreboard at #1. KD was like 2 and 17 lol.

They are pretty much cancer at the moment. If im a ammo guy i make sure i dont resupply the assholes that are camping on rooftops or on the far edges of the map just taking pot shots at people. Its not hardcore mode so they cant simply just teamkill me and take my kit to resupply themselves. I honestly dont understand why EA/Dice cant code in a max of 4 or 5 snipers per team on Conquest & possibly Rush. Surely its more fun if youre right where the action is instead of halfway across the map staring at people through a scope. Or maybe there is a way to ban players all together who just persistently prone on the edge of maps and take pot shots through a scope from Conquest mode. Eitherway. I cant wait till people start running the sniper limit per team mods on their server.

Nah. Class limits piss me off. It's not the scout class, it's those players. Limit scouts and you'll just have a bunch of medics posted up.
I can ptfo as recon just fine. In fact, I would say they are an essential class for it. With how large the flag cap radius is on some of these maps, the spot flare is a must.
I really like the 1895 infantry for aggressive play. I didn't like it at first because I wasn't getting one shot kills, but after I realized I could 2 shot kill and still win firefights.
Also, use the frommer stop as your pistol. I often found myself running around with it as a primary and only pulling out a rifle to engage long range targets.

I haven't read anything above except pieces but as a sniper I am constantly on the move and taking flags etc.

I started playing recently, mostly been doing TDM and some Domination. I like Domination, where there are no tanks and shit. Feels more balanced and fun imo. That being said, it seems like everybody has better weapons than me and can shoot faster/better/more damage etc. I am level 4 or so and getting matched with people who are 50 - seems like a lot of their winning is just having better weapons.

Thats just you though and 1 scout playing aggressively makes no difference if very little difference at all when all the other scouts are camping on the edge of maps or on roof tops.

At least if its a bunch of medics on the frontlines at least they are many so their selbstlader's will be a force to be reckoned with like three platoons worth of starwars storm troopers. They might all die but at least they are trying to PTFO. Though thats not to say that i havent seen a medic camp but the range of their weapons is limited.....However useless the class maybe at least they are still using their legs in game to get to flags

Scouts = still cancer

Haru your the exception to the rule playing scout. You and Highway. I would say 99% of the snipers I see sit back and contribute nothing. Of course I make up 100% of my stats,

I agree with you however. I don't want to see class caps. Sometimes I just want to relax and pick people off. Cant do that with Stalin running the servers.

The irony is the war wasn't fought with snipers. It was fought with a fuck load of cannon fodder. Snipers, for the most part (tips hat to @Black Haru - in a positive way, I should add) are cowards racking up kills for the e-peen. WW1 was fought with hideous magnitudes of death and shit loads of indiscriminate artillery barrages.
