Help with removing timer function on circuit board

Hi! Need some help with removal of the timer funktion on a Bosch heatpad (PFP1136), any ideas on how?

Can't tell you anything with just picks. The timer looks to consist of a capacitor and an up/down counter on an IC but that's basically all I can say w/o actually fiddling with it. Could you include a pic with he outside of the case that has the switch labels.

Test it with power and hard wire it! On the flip side, timers are a good thing, and are sometimes there so the board does not overheat and you catch fire while sleeping!

Just cut the two wires from both ends of that device and throw the device away. In connect one of these to both wires.

Way to help him short cut any safety measures that device had. You know better than that.
It's an instant fire hazard.

Its a safety device, you defeat it there is no warranty and you are your own liability if you kill yourself or someone else by doing this.

Instant fire hazard? Now that is simply ridiculous! He wants to dig around in circuits disabling the timing feature. That's the timing feature and you should know better than that.

The best solution if the device is broken is to replace the pad.

Bill, it doesn't even look like a straighthrough AC timer device if I'm not mistaken. There are several wires on what I am assuming is a DC (or something else) end.

Your advice this time strikes me as just bad advice. Please don't take that personally, but as constructive criticism (and criticism I'm not claiming is neccesarily 100% right.) I'd like you to make sure you didn't miss something and I admit my electronics knowledge is really just basic, but this seems wrong.

We all give bad advice on occasion, usually because we missed something. Not sure if it's you or me here but we both should take our time thinking here. A second look never hurts.

It was meant tongue in cheek but this is not the place for it. So again, I apologize.

Because we have no schematics, cannot see the part numbers or values of the all the components, nor can we see all the trace routes, my sincere advice it to just replace the pad.

As an aside, I'm glad to see I'm not going completely out of date and there's some kind of fancy schmancy quad polarity AC pass through timer thing going on (how else could two wires go in, 4 come out?)

I mean I guess technically there could be multiple AC phases at play, but I thought that a little complex for a heating pad... plus I never liked AC and don't really understand it, I'm a modern day Thomas Edison, lol!

The timer is there to allow a cool down period so things don't overheat. I DO know that thank you.
Regardless, you know it was bad advice so there is no point in making it more than it is. I'm all done here.
