Ek WaterBlocks has just announced the standalone availability of its much sought-after CPC Quick-Disconnect couplings, which you may wish to integrate into your custom water loops for ease of use and quality-of-life improvements. To release them, a quick button press on the female side of the connector and a slight pull should bring the parts apart. Although the purpose of these connectors is really to stop the flow so you can change parts from your loop, you can't disconnect them while the loop is running (well, you shouldn't because you know, sparkly fireworks might ensue due to spillage.) These also don't work as a drain port.

The EK-QDC 10mm couplings work with soft tubing that has an inner diameter of 10 mm and outer diameters of either 13 mm or 16 mm, and includes clamps for both sizes. The CPC Quick-Disconnect couplings' U.S. pricing comes in at $33, and are now available for purchase directly from EKWB.

Anyone else find it a tad comical that EK are trying to make money off re-selling the QDCs they buy in for their AIOs, which have the name of the company that makes them and their website stamped on the side of them.

Ever thought it's because it's practical? So you don't have to order a set of things for water cooling with them and a separate order somewhere else for just the couplings.

Do you think cars also come with everything built by original manufacturer? Very few vendors in the world make majority of components under their own brand or in their own factories. Most have components designed, made or both by others, they just integrate them. This situation is no different really. Maybe they'll at some point strike a deal with them for EK branded couplings, but it might as well not matter for them.

If you took EKs word, they are the originators of everything WC related. How they get away with it is an absolute joke. I could never support this company, I would go out of my way to avoid them. At any cost.

These things are pig ugly compared to Koolance QDC fittings.

Quick Disconnects can be used for drain ports, all you have to do is have a couple of spare ones fitted to open ended tubing. You can also use the same method to prefill individual components instead of draining the whole loop.

I've never understood using a qdc as drain and fill fitting when they cost more than fill ports and the same as ball valves and are not any more convenient.

QDCs are a lot easier to use to prefill your components and look a lot better than a drain port which you don't need.

I really don't understand the pricing on these, given they are $33 you are much better off buying high-quality quick-connects from Koolance for less money (~$25).

I might wander down to my local hardware store and check out prices of hose fittings there, i'm sure I've seen a variety that looks like this for sprinkler fittings. :p

There is no way I will ever use plastic fittings on my PC that look more at home with the garden gnomes.:D
