I dislike LEDs so much that I even unplugged the blue one for the power buttons. Also, I disassembled my mouse just to tape over the LED that was shining over the logo button.

I notice the RGB stuff really goes a long way on lower-end/quick-build systems... the more money/time/knowledge you dump into your system, the more RGB sort of flies out the window...

I have a $900 data/devbox (r7 1700 @ 3.7) that is a workstation with a donated r9 280x with a red led and i have the AMD stock cooler with RGB matching ring and it looks really sharp when matched with the VC card - took 0 effort or money to make it look that way...

I have a home $1700 system that I use for fun with a WC loop and nice lighting and clean cable management -- i have gskill trident z's and i keep the RGB function off since it looks sooo cheezy... but those sticks would look great in the other system. IMO it's not a look that fits in the
high end (unless you designed a system around it) but it is a huge improvement in the mainstream/budget custom-build space.

I avoid RGB like the plague. If I have any lighting in my system it's with white or UV LEDs, and a UV reactive fluid in to show off the loop. I've got pretty decent RGB lighting on my Crosshair vi hero, but it's disabled because I think it cheapens the look of a very expensive setup. Hell, I've even got the "GEFORCE GTX" on the 1080Ti taped over because that looks childish to me.

That said, the 'ultimate rgb build' they did on Linus tech tips actually impressed me with the end result. Not for me though.

I can control the LED on the side, but its got red LED strips that are single color - if they cant be synced, i aint interested.

You get lights in a fan it's so convenient.

What's "convenient" about RGB lights in fans? To me, it might be convenient if the lights actually let you see if dust buildup is clogging heatsinks or blocking vents, but colored LEDs sure don't. You can't really admire a really good cable management job with colored LEDs either.

Fancy lighting does nothing for performance, adds some heat, consumes some power and does nothing for performance (worth repeating).

RGB has a certain wow factor, but only for that first time guests see it.

I think that is true even for most users. Most people don't sit around and gawk at and drool over their case interiors. Instead, they pay attention to what's happening on the monitor(s). It's a novelty thing. And like most novelty things, the novelty wears off quickly, then it is just ho-hum.

I am not totally against aesthetics - on things meant to be looked at. When it comes to case interiors, I go for dust-free and tidy cable management for a "professional" appearance.

I guess in place of a Christmas tree for a couple weeks in December, it might be fine.

I would not toss out your fans, unless they are junk. But I might cut the leads to the LEDs.

Convenient in the way that I can see everything in my case even dust between fins of heatsink. They also act as a night light since I dont like darkness.

i just realised my GTX 1080 has RGB.

it seems you have to do some pretty selective purchasing these days to NOT acquire something with RGB functionality. MY Corsair H110GTXi has it, but i cant be bothered to mess with it. i Will admit that My Keyboards RGB is beautiful....Azio cut Zero corners with the implementation on this puppy.but id be lying if i said i bought it ONLY for the looks...with age my eyes have gone to Shit, and the Lighting makes seeign the Keys all the easier for me.
