Let them shine. That's what they are intended to do. A computer case, however, is supposed to protect the components inside from heat and accidental kicks and bumps, suppress noise, and not distract me from the tasks presented to me on my monitors.

these are all the lights i got.

No longer have the Acme mouse. That served me very well for so many years!
Got this one, it's silent touch,or something, makes almost 0 noise when pressing the buttons. And i payed 20$,about 3 days of work for me.

LOL Well you got me there. That said, with no lights inside my Fractal Design R4 Window Case, I don't see any dust.

And the only lights on my keyboard and mouse (besides the mouse's belly laser) are the battery indicators when the batteries need replacing (or in my case, recharged). Num and Caps lock appear as a bubble above above my system tray when pressed.

Now if the ram was red, I'd be more happy but honestly this is about the limit I'd have in lights in my case. I don't need a light show when I'm trying to sleep and I really don't need the neighbors kids coming over to poke at my stuff. I have a giant pool noodle sword and I'm not afraid to whack some six-year-olds over the head and out the window with it.

^ thats the same GPU i have... and as much as i like the card, it annoys me i cant change those stripes off red.

I can sense a shift here... soon you'll have RGB everything. Not long now, you are softening up already. ^^

For me personally, I dread RGB on mice and mouse pads because simply enough its a distraction to have lights below your eyes when you want to focus on a monitor. I have RGB in my keyboard but I turn that to the lowest brightness it can go and works well that way.

Next build I will however definitely put some thought in adding RGB - not christmas tree-like but some subtle lightning and a case window, yeah why not. It has its uses apart from the looks.

This looks almost identical to my rig, everything is R E D....7 case fans + 2 LED strips, and the I/O led is red too, but no flashing or pulsing or rotating colors....

Is your case an Air 540?

I dont like rgb.

I often

A. Poke them with a pen till they break.
B. Cover them with tape
C. Colour them in with a black marker pen.

My son loves rgb and uv.....so much so that his PC looks like it overdosed on DMT.

I don't see that agreement.

If the choice is only between (1) static lighting and (2) the flashing/rotating stuff, then yes, static lighting seems to be the more common choice. But if the choice is (1) static lighting, (2) the flashing/rotating stuff, or (3) no lighting - except (maybe) power on indicators, I think the majority have indicated choice #3, no RGB lighting.

I love RGB for one simple reason - they don't commonly make single LEDs in the color(s) I like. With RGB I can choose whatever accent color I want (I generally like a mint green color, but sometimes light blue or yellow or orange. Good luck finding case fans or whatever accessory in those colors.)

A little accent goes a long way. I've never used the rainbow features, I just set it to a static color that I like. AMD's Wraith Spire RGB cooler is really well done for instance (in my opinion of course). Just a tasteful accent, and it can be used to send info at a glance (utilization, temperature, etc.)

Never really understood the hate for it, to be honest. Price seems fair for the capability to choose your own color (or turn it off - most components have non-RGB products too if you really hate it). Options are good.
