AMD today released the latest update to their Radeon GPU drivers, the Crimson ReLive Edition 17.7.2. We took a detailed look at it which you can read here, and it is a fairly big update bringing a lot of added features- some of which were user requested such as additional settings and per-display color controls, and others aiming to improve user experience such as Enhanced Sync to lower game animation stutter and also input latency. There have also been improvements to ReLive streaming, as well as an addition of a new GPU Profiler tool for developers.

Note that AMD is no longer supporting Windows 8/8.1 with newer RX 400 and 500 series (and also upcoming RX Vega). When asked about this, AMD provided the following statement: "With the declining use of Windows 8.1 we have focused our efforts on providing the best experience on the operating systems that the vast majority of our users are now using. Although we no longer officially support Windows 8.1, users can try the Windows 7 driver on an "as-is" basis."

As always, you can grab the drivers from our Downloads Section right here: AMD Crimson ReLive Edition 17.7.2 Drivers

Radeon Settings
  • Radeon Additional Settings has been retired and its previously supported controls for Switchable Graphics, Color Depth and Pixel Format have all been moved into Radeon Settings.

Radeon ReLive
  • Now supports bitrates up to 100Mbps for recording or capturing.
  • Added new controls for camera transparency.
  • Optimized memory usage for lower overhead while recording or capturing.
  • Added new notifications for Instant Replay Saving, Recording Timers in Overlay Toolbar and Network Connectivity Issues when streaming.
  • Enhanced Audio Controls: Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition now has support for customizable microphone volume controls, audio boost for captured replays and push to talk (mouse + keyboard) support for microphone.

Radeon Chill
  • Now supports DirectX12 and Vulkan. For more details on new and supported games visit http://www.radeon.com/chill.
  • Now supports Multi-GPU.
  • Now supports Hybrid Graphics system configurations.
  • Now supports Radeon XConnect Technology system configurations.

Enhanced Sync
  • Enhanced Sync is a display technology which helps minimize screen tearing while decreasing latency and stuttering at an unlocked frame rate. Enhanced Sync is available in Radeon Settings Game Manager under the "Wait for Vertical Refresh" drop down menu.

You can take a look at the full list of changes in the article linked above or the source linked below.

If your on a unsupported OS "Windows 8/8.1" you can try the Windows 7 driver at your own risk a.la no support will be given to the driver on that OS.

These drivers, so far works great for me. No more stutter issues while playing Tekken 7. It runs buttery smooth, I love it. Will try it out some more later after I finish painting.

Supposedly, because Win8/8.1 doesn't check for version-specific criteria, WDDM-wise, advanced features that should exist, don't, and bugs aplenty as a result.
I've installed Win7x64 drivers for HID, IPMI and COM interfaces in Win8.1, some worked fine, others resulted in a kernel crash fest.

So, you're basing your next graphic card purchase on your mouse misbehaving in Windows 10, saying you'll switch camps because while your card is still supported in both Windows 10 and 8/8.1, means you don't want to spend 1/6 of the investment on a new mouse :confused:
Everyone has a sense of logic, but I mean, c'mon....

Good, I've been waiting for them to go WHQL. One of my media playback programs (PowerDVD) for some reason doesn't like non-WHQL video card drivers, it just refuses to play back BluRays on drivers that haven't been certified by Microsoft.

Wow, so the company that needs as many consumers as possible has just relegated not even the oldest OS in use to non-support. :kookoo: There! Finally had a use for that emoji!

Like I said elsewhere, AMD is a walking PR disaster of their own making.

It never "settles down". There is a new feature update upsetting a stable system every 6 to 9 months.

I think if you switch to the "Current Branch for Business" updates are slowed down. Myself, I've not had any stability issues with Windows 10 at all. OK, the first version a year and a half ago was a dumpster fire but lately it's been damn stable.

True, they are, but eventually "that day" comes when you have to upgrade. Microsoft has a stick called "no more updates for you" if you get too far behind.
