XSPC Announces Raystorm Neo Threadripper CPU Water Block

XSPC has announced their cooling solution for AMD's TR4 socket Ryzen Threadripper CPUs. The Raystorm Neo Threadripper has a massive cold plate measuring 80 x 66.5 mm which is the largest of any CPU block announced for Threadripper so far. Accompanying this is a machined fin stack that covers all four dies- two active, two dummy- to where it also appears to be very optimized for the platform as well.

The Raystorm Neo comes with a chrome or black chrome plated solid aluminum mounting bracket with an acrylic top to see the coolant flowing through the copper cold plate underneath. The coolant does not come in contact with the aluminum mounting bracket. XSPC also bundles in an RGB controller with two RGB LEDs, with the controller supporting some breathing modes and static lighting effects to toggle between.



Compared to their recently announced Raystorm Neo for AMD's AM4 socket, we can see the base plate and fin stack is significantly larger in both ways too (Raystorm Neo Threadripper on the left below, Raystorm Neo for AM4 socket on the right). Despite this, XSPC says they have designed the water block with coolant flow restriction in mind and also point out that their updated mounting system with no guesswork anymore helps with the installation process. There is no word on pricing or availability at this point.

Very similar solutions to CPU blocks for Threadripper. I gave the idea but nobody picked it up. They are cheaper industrial production, with the as little as possible amount of time and material.

Between the Raystorm Neo CPU block and the new Razor RGB GPU block design changes, I think they recognized that customers are looking for something different and addressed it.

I'm glad that manufacturers of hardware and cooling solution decide to support as much possible AMD Threadripper.
I can't remember last time when someone smart decide to pay 300-400$ for watercooling AMDs RIG. AMD CPU and Radeon GPU.
Radeon GPU yes, but CPU, very rear. If someone have enough for watercooling he will first to build proper Intel.
Not any more.
This XSPC have some specific style of watercooling stuff, they not take idea from others and their products are cool.
Photon V2 special in combination with D5 and decoractive XSPC ring. Even Ion look cool and price is low only I'm not sure about performance.

With Ion Pump-Res Combo, AX radiator and this block could be build nice cooling system for Thredripper and later new RX Vega 64. Only if Ion Combo have enough pressure for nice performance.
Vega Liquid cooling have much higher clock than Limited Edition, I'm not sure how much Limited Edition could be OC with waterblock.
