ermmm you might want to check again...
The 7900x is ₹81,243 on the same site, which is 1,268.70 USD, which is nicely above their recommended Customer Price over 999 USD as well soooooo yeah... seems more to do with India then anything else.

At least do some research before you make wild (fanboyish) claims.

Same goes for this rather on sided article though.
The Intel 7820x, shown in the provided chart to be costing 599 dollars is on that same Indian site ₹47,205 which translates to 737 USD.
So again, the SAME level up added expenses on Intel's side.

AMD 1900x - 550 dollars - India price 715 dollars
Intel 7820x - 599 dollars - India price 737 dollars

So can we stop this half assed (read: misleading) information sharing pls?
What are blabbering about? Intel does run a tight ship, can you deny that?

I guess they don;t have as much influence on worldwide pricing as I;d like them to, but you cannot deny that their entire chain is a well oiled machine.

so much for folks over here saying Intel is "overpriced"... guess they're mistaken for such promise after all that publicity stunt AMD is pulling these days...
actually intel is still overpriced ... and AMD is not responsible for distributor/retailer greed and per country prices .... (tho they are still cheaper than Intel counterpart .... when they have one ofc)

yep ... little divergence in pricing from them to the retailer ... because they are already too pricy
while their argument to stay overpriced are beginning to stretch thin...

1920x here in my country cost around the same as the 7900x so I'd assume the 1900x will follow the same BS trend

The (Indian) retailers never seem to disappoint, when it comes to price gouging  What's the price over there, in USD?
Retailers are not price gouging at all, its AMD first to blame on higher than usual prices(still cheaper than Intel equivalent) also if I remember correctly taxes on these products has gone up from 5.5%(during VAT) to 18%GST now.

Let's see ~Any of that look egregious to you or fanboyishly wild claims?

I dont think you understand how the English language works, the "probably" reflects on why AMD has a mark up value and Intel does not, while in actuality Intel has the same mark up.... sooo yeah...

And the claim that Intel has "better control on the entire chain" again reflects upon the earlier assumption that only AMD has a mark up which again, Intel has as well so no they do not have better control of the entire chain if you take this article as proof (and seeing as your comment is made in regards to this article it is the source of your claim).

at 500$ i gladly take that over a 7770K or any HEDT from intel any day... i would be deemed mad if i didn't ... or worse ... you know ... the fanboy kind

I suggest taking a look at what Intel has to offer at the 500$ price point...

I don't live in India but I always heard that prices there are way more inflated than in most other parts of the world.

on part with Switzerland, which is kinda overkill considering the medium revenue difference between both countries ....
i'm in the lower part .... for a Swiss :p but i'm fine ... sweet second hand deals (when people don't go balistic over a brand ... gosh anything Intel or Nvidia goes for retail price even in second hand  ) monthly payment isn't a big issue ... kinda like a car leasing ... except i don't have a car nor drivers license , so i can put my money on more hardware. :peace:

1900x + an x399 board is more/less the same as a 7820x with a $200 x299 board. Why pay the same for an inferior processor like the 1900x?

for massive / specific many-threaded workloads, then threadripper for sure. but for general HEDT w/ games, then yeah... cant touch the 7820x.

Just compared my new 7820x with mild oc to my old 1800x with 4 months of OCing and tweaking - not even close... like 1080 vs 1080ti.

I'm not sure what you're objecting to ~

a) the possibility that retailers are responsible for the jacked up prices
b) the fact that Intel has much better control over their entire chain, they also own their FAB

Also this isn't the article I;m basing any assumptions on ~

So the 1700 is as expensive as the 7700k, absolutely not! You can see prices going down for newly launched parts, after a while, but Zen isn;t getting cheaper.
The 7900x can also be had for 4k less, even cheaper offline ~ https://www.vedantcomputers.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=910

The 1900x will be an 8 core CPU. The 7820x will slaughter it in everything without even overclocking it. 1800x @ 4Ghz is already slower than 7820x at stock. 1900x would have a better proposition if it had 10 cores, but this is merely a 1700 with moar PCIe lanes and at over $500 no less.

lol reading fail... i thought you were talking about the 1920...

Yeah idk that the 1900x was a thing - now that it's selling in india and all, i am a bit confused - I mean a 1700 would match/beat it in most things thanks to less latency for $290..

And yes - i just switched to the 7820x and it does generally crush the 1800x.
