I was at the EKWB website wanting to RMA Vardar F4-120ER fan that I received recently and that was DOA.

I stumbled across an article from EKWB where they show results from overclocking their liquid cooling Vega 64:
https://www.ekwb.com/blog/can-water-block-really-boost-gpu-performance/

There is also a link to a video at the bottum that explains step by step how to build a custom loop for Vega of course they are using all EKWB components, but it could be used as reference for anybody who is new to water cooling and want to build custom loop on Vega not necessary using EKWB stuff.

I have been doing some similar experiments with liquid cooled Vega 64 overclocking myself. My investigations results are posted in the Vega owners sections under the following posts:

Funnily enough I get similar results with a similar EK setup including the 360 coolstream rad.
Nice article though ty.

What I don't understand about the article: They are showing two screenshots for the Superposition benchmark with results for 4K, but in the spreadsheet at the end of the article the numbers are different compared to the ones in the screenshot.

Screenshot:
4K AC = 5746
4K WC = 7047

Spreadsheet:
4K AC = 5516
4K WC = 6509

So why?

I hate to shatter dreams but

Somebody please add up the numbers for all this watercooling gear and compare the end result to the strongest air cooled GPU one can buy. I'll not spoil the surprise... something with perf/dollar

moot point because there's nothing stopping anyone from buying the strongest air-cooled gpu money can buy and slapping a waterblock on it.

I get where your headed and your right , but if you were already buying it or like me you already owned it (the cooling setup is not cheap) then its not that bad a plan , buying new to do this just for the Gpu ,im with you.

Watercooling ain't about the money. If you have to make this point, you don't get it.

Of course, I get that, do not worry :) But for example, even on Pascal with all its limitations and GPU Boost 3.0, the gain is so tiny compared to good air cooling. One needs to get pretty creative to really make wc worthwhile up to and including voiding warranty.

On one recent occasion i had it all go wrong , get blocked spring a leak i didn't notice for days while it was still flat out doing its job , done well its beyond compare and usefulness ,so much so that despite scrapping (for now i will fix it) ,£250 mobo and its uselss block im still happy to have it.
