Exactly! @Steevo, you should be done with White Orchard in 6 to 10 hours. It's a small map. I can understand the urge to explore every inch of the map. I did that in the rest of the world, and found extra encounters and treasures. It's a world begging to be explored. CDPR anticipated this and populated it accordingly for curious folks.

Honestly though I feel like PC is a far better platform for this game. I'll admit you might want a GPU upgrade (I maxed 1080p60 with the 1070 pretty easy, but the 1050 in the laptop is a mostly low settings gpu) and if you don't want to upgrade the gu that's fine, but it really is so nice and immersive. The mods on PC plus how truly stunning the world is on ultra (Especially blood and wine with GoTY edition) and the super-fluid fighting and character animations would be lost I feel like.

Also you need an ssd for load times. Xbox or PC, put it on an SSD.

For context, I'm 168 hours in and while I've completed all the story I haven't done even most of the side quests or done a new game+.

I killed some time and am now all over the map, it is a huge world, and the game looks great and runs very well on my system, have only had two issues, one was being stuck in the pig cave in the back as I couldn't jump or swim back out, and once when beating the monsters before we could make a lubber it just hard locked.

Other than that, almost all maxxed setting except Nshita hairworks, 40-60FPS and Chill works on the game too.

Um no. Ran it like that on a 980 and now on my 980 Ti. My first playthrough was on a 780, which had no hair works, but otherwise near max.

You ran this on a 980 with hairworks? I stand corrected. I figured it would cripple things.

How does Rise of the Tomb Raider run? Maybe it's different. Because I've seen it run poorly on a 1060 with hairworks (fine without).

Looking way more forward to Cyberpunk than another Witcher.

HairWorks (really GameWorks at large) only tanks performance on AMD cards because the way GameWorks tessellates isn't optimized for GCN (ends up taking a lot more GPU clocks). AMD has open sourced competing technologies like TressFX that work as well or better on all platforms (even Intel IGPs).

Here's hoping CD Projekt RED abandoned NVIDIA for Cyberpunk.

Ran both Witcher and TR without hair thingies. The only way to notice any improvements is to focus hard on Geralts head, and considering what a game TW3 is you'll be focusing on everything else but his head. A waste of gpu power if you ask me.

Can't disagree. Perhaps more noticable with Lara in TR.

I bet it'll be over the place in FF15 though. This was reserved for their cutscenes before.. so it's kind of cool it's in-game now.

Blaming nvidia for developing gameworks and then reaching out to developers to implement them is easily top 3 fanboy trash BS one can came up with, be it open source or proprietary. Instead of looking to blame "nshitia",as you put it, maybe ask AMD why they're doing so poorly with implementing their equally good techniques.
Nvidia has a whole friggin armada of gameworks effects https://developer.nvidia.com/what-is-gameworks plus ansel, and AMD are sitting with their arms crossed sulking about why no one uses their tressfx. It's an easy choice for a developer of an AAA title to work with nvidia.

Witcher 3 also uses physx clothing for those effects

but I guess this also sucks cause it's nvidia tech, one can't use it since the odds are stacked against AMD to come up with one. LAAAAAZYYYY....

If you can acknowlege there is more just one side to the story, then you should probably understand why fanboys getting so frustrated with nvidia is futile. They're making money and implementing new visual effects to make some more in the long run, they can afford it. It's good from enthusiast viewpoint, I liked some of them very much, like godrays in ACIVBF looked spectacular in the jungle, PCSS in WatchDogs2/AC:Syndicate and the quoted cloth physics in the Witcher 3. People who complain can just shut the gameworks up, never seen any game that forces you to use them. I'd rather have them as an option,even if they're too taxing, than not have them at all. But some fanboys just can't deal with it.
