CORSAIR Launches New Range of Magnetic Levitation ML PRO RGB Fans

Building on the success of CORSAIR ML Series fans, which are equipped with magnetic levitation bearings to deliver almost frictionless operation, CORSAIR ML PRO RGB fans add four individually controlled RGB LEDs on the fan's center hub, creating a vivid 360° blast of light and color. Enhanced by frosted fan blades and customizable with near-limitless options in CORSAIR LINK software, ML PRO RGB fans create a bright circle of custom-color-lighting that makes any PC standout from the crowd.

Behind the lighting, ML PRO RGB fans retain the quality and performance that's made ML Series fans a staple of high-end PCs and the most ambitious builds, with a magnetic levitation fan bearing that physically levitates the fan rotor to almost entirely eliminate bearing friction. The custom-designed fan rotor delivers the perfect balance between high static pressure and high airflow, while a low-noise tuned PWM control range means that, even at full speed, ML PRO RGB fans are incredibly quiet.

I have always wanted to hear the ML's in person, but I'm quite happy with my e-loops to spend anymore money on fans (especially the cost of these). More than anything, it's not so much the db level I'm interested in, but what the actual noise sounds like (i.e. harsh, soft, etc) which is purely subjective.

And if the new Corsair RGB fans are any indication of price, these will around the $50 range per fan. There's no way they'll be the same cost as the non ML versions. That's pretty damn pricey for a fan.

This. The non-LED ML120s have a max of something closer to 70CFM. I have two of those for exhaust on my case now and they're great. They move a lot of air and don't make a whole lot of noise.

The max speed here is a lot lower also, that's why.

More lighting options and more addressable RGB LEDs on the LL fans. Basically, if all you want is max bling you head that way. If you want bling and performance, these are for you.

Since these fans are basically friction free are they more efficient? I'd be happy to start seeing CFM per watt specs. That would help to build an even more efficient machine. Of course getting rid of all LEDs is a start too when it comes to that...

They actually are, but as you said adding the LEDs is counterproductive here.

You mean like how the non-LED ML120s have a higher airflow rating than the LED ones? I would also rather buy two fans for 40USD than 1 fan for 30USD.

Well I have a few machines with the most efficient PSUs I could get, SSD only and are basically bare minimum to keep energy use down to keep heat down. I once had my PC under my desk and my lord, the heat getting pumped towards me was crazy in comparison to how it was after I upgraded everything with more efficient components. In the Winter I would leave my window open here in Chicago haha.

Anyhow, if we get CFM per watt used it would be really cool, of course these fans will come at a premium cost but hey...good stuff costs good money.

Aquinus, that's their game 1 fan for $30 or two for $40, they get people all the time with 'deals' like that. Grocery stores and places that sell in bulk will always make pricing so close between a single item or multiple that you say it's more worth it to buy more than what you need. Only way to really 'beat them' at that game is buy two of something you only need one of and have someone else who needs the other.
