EVGA Enters Gaming Peripherals Foray with Z10 Gaming Keyboard

EVGA is on the prowl for its share of the gaming peripherals market, with the new Z10 mechanical gaming keyboard (model: 801-ZT-N101-KR). Built with a solid aluminium body with a metal top-panel, and ABS back, the keyboard is characterized by its tiny LCD display (a la Logitech G15), which can be used to display a whole range of information, including game OSD, live data from EVGA Precision, keyboard macro mapping on-the-fly, etc. In addition to a standard 104-keyset, the Z10 has 7 cleverly positioned macro keys, and media shortcut keys. The keyboard will be available with Kailh Red and Brown switches, the one on display had Brown ones.

As people mention this is not innovation: this is remarking keyboard from 2007! With same technical implementation on would assume that the design was updated to 2018.... This did not happen. In my eyes this waters out the EVGA brand and should not have been released. :/

G15 ripoff indeed - the design is very 2007-ish. Heck, EVGA has never been good at designing anything, but this is a low point for sure.

No real value the customer in compoanies buying OEM stuff and adding their own aestehtic design". Be better if consumer went to OEM direct and cut out the middle man. But EVGA is good at marketing ... the SC has sold well for years against its direct AIB competition, while design wise it was simly a reference PCB with better cooler.

....the designer of this is soooo going back to the mail room. .....wait at least several people had to sign off on this, there is no way that anyone could look at this and thought corsair is in trouble now. The generic keyboards from Hp look better.

While everyone is hating on this, I like it. I had a logitech I really liked for many years, but moved to something mechanical. That screen came in handy more time than not. Plus, the whole thing could be powered over USB.

This was originally announced/shown a couple of years ago. All of us lost hope it would ever show up again.

Don't want it to look "different" or "radical", just not badly designed. Almost-round (technically octagonal, I guess) plasticky corners alongside blocky mechanical keys? The screen integrated through some half-a**ed "we don't want it to stick out too much, but don't want it flush either" design? And that glossy black plastic strip along the top? Not to mention the "hey, I'll clog up with dust and break within a couple of years" volume sliders.

For my tastes: strip it down, square off the edges, make the display assembly match the rest of the construction, and give me a volume wheel. Oh, and slim down those massive bezels. It's already a full-size keyboard, no reason for it to take up two extra inches of desk width with useless blank plastic.
