Sorry, it is a little bit complicated.

Flashed bios but still 896 :(
Do you have a ASUS 4GB 560 ROG Strix OC EVO Gaming with Micron memory (MT51J256M32HF_60S) ?

Hello.

I have both RX 560 OC 2GB (16 CU) and the RX 560 2GB Lite (branded like that in Romania, no OC to 1300Mhz and only 14 CU). I do mining with them. Both are Sapphire Pulse. I did the BIOS mod for memory straps and it works on the OC 16CU.

Can I just flash the modded BIOS of the OC 16CU on the non-OC 14CU? I'm aiming for memory straps optimization as well as OCing these cards to 1300Mhz and unlocking 2 more CU. Since it's the same manufacturer (and hopefully the same memory - gotta check when I get home) should work right? Same features, same manufacturer, 6pin power on all etc. Can confirm that cooling is the same since the 14CU run allot cooler than the OC 16CU.

And another question. If I run multi gpu setup, some cards (3) have modded BIOS only memory straps changed (the ones from 1500 up to 2000) and some (2) don't have modded bios, it it normal for the screen to freeze after 10 minutes of running full load mining?

And if you were kind enough to tell me how I overclock my memory from Polaris bios editor that would be nice. I know it can reach 1950Mhz stable however I can't figure out how to do that.

Thank you,
Catalin

If you post your original bios I can mod it right now. Takes like two seconds no idea where all of the misinformation is coming from right now.

Yea i understood just change the Clock without the mV.
What about unlocking the shaders and oc to 1300? Cool if i flash the Factory OC BIOS from
Saphire (with ajusted straps and mem oberclock) over the stock 14cu Saphire BIOS?

If you had a sapphire card with the same PCB sure, but you have an Asus card so no.

You can unlock your BIOS and adjust clockspeed. Voltage is automatic in the cards and is based off of ASIC values.

No i dont have an Asus. I Said in the first post i have the Saphire 2gb oc 16cu 1300mhz and the Saphire 2gb lite 14cu 1226mhz.

Ah I gotcha you took over the original thread about an asus card.

If there is a 2GB 1024 shader 560 sapphire BIOS that is on the same PCB and contains the same memory type you can flash inbetween the two. There is another thread on the forum with a member doing exactly that with sapphire 4GB models.

thing is that there are two differences:

1. lower shader count
2. lower CPU clock from factory. I want to flash the factory OC bios (1300mhz) to the regular card (1220 or smth mhz).

Power-wise should be ok, cards have 6pin connector.

What happens if it fails?

Thanks

Ok, I asked in the other thread and I will flash the OC bios to LITE card with lower shaders.
Will post back with results, right now I have to solve stability issues.

@R0land: I have exported my Bios from my ASUS 4GB 560 ROG Strix OC EVO Gaming with Micron memory (MT51J256M32HF_60S) and it looks (beside of 2 small changes) exactly like your updated Bios.
Could you explain how you did it?

I prefer to patch my own export instead of flashing a (maybe) slightly different export from you.

Thank you in advance.

hey so yea i'm back got my second rig up and running.

I want to flash the OC 1300MHZ bios (16CU) over the LITE 1200MHZ gpu (the one with 14 CU instead of 16).
Thing is the LITE cards have Elpida memory while the OC have hynix. The OC modded bios contains the GPU overclock to 1300, Timings for Hynix (up to 2000) and a memory OC to 1950.

Noticed that the LITE bios has straps up to 1750, no 2000 straps here. And also I saw on monero benchmarks that someone is running stable up to 1850 Mhz for memory. Elpida might not like OC-ing that much?

Also, the Powertune section reports, on the original LITE bios a max power draw of 45 Watts (although the card has the 6 PIN connector), as opposed to the factory OC 60W.

My question is, how do I add the 1850 STRAP in Polaris Bios Editor?
In this circumstance (different memory and power draws) is it safe to just flash the OC Hynix 1300/1950 BIOS from the OC card, hoping to unlock 2 more CUs and a faster, more optimised memory?

Thanks,
Catalin

Does anyone have the original bios of the ASUS RX 560 ROG STRIX EVO GAMING 4GB (Asus RX560D with Mircon memory which it is) that they could upload to techpowerup repository? Thankyou.
