How long does your pc take to boot to windows?

I have a Samsung 850 Evo SSD and it's been booting windows 10 for me in about 7 seconds.

40mins? Well thats how long it took for my HDD light to stop flashing on my 5400RPM 1TB WD Drive in my Lenovo Y700 after been turned off for 2weeks. Windows 10 the new Vista?

Upgraded to a 120GB M.2 Drive, now boots up in less then 10seconds.

Right click and run as Admin!
Remove password from log on or it will count that time too!
If you get a pop up to allow to run after reboot but before results then select Allow to Run, then after a moment of NOT using your keyboard or mouse you will get the results!

25 sec from hitting the power button to desktop, and maybe 5s more for the cursor circle do disappear.
Windows is installed on the 180GB ssd, I believe it's Intel.

i get up turn on Pc
go to kitchen
Put on Kettle and make coffee
bring made coffee to Pc and then turn on speakers and display
that's good enough and fast enough for me

last windoze update has the spinny thing doing a double take and my post has an 8 second pause but 24 seconds.

task manager says bios time is 12.8 with said 8 second pause on post screen.

You should have had a piece of software to use to measure so at least everyone is using the same tool making the results sort of comparable.

Yeah man this thread can not be taken too seriously with out a standard tool used by everyone who wants to submit a boot time. RIght now you have people counting, you have people posting Bios boot times, you have people looking at their hard drive activity lights and then there is Fast boot enabled and Fast boot disabled and absolutely NO standard for the results, rendering this thread as a purely entertaining and not scientific by any means. :lovetpu:

Oh hell yeah ,going back to a hard drive would be like getting a kick ass jet pack ,and using it to get to work for a year, then going back to driving a Volkswagen rabbit or a dodge reliant .

I'm sure many can remember, when boot times & downloads, or even loading an image on the screen was something you would start ,and then go get a coffee ,and hope it was done when you got back

SSDs have been the bare minimum for almost 10 years now. Its one of probably one of the better pieces of tech that changed or shaped the entire industry/consumer market. A real game changer so to speak. Most half decent laptops come with SSDs nower days. Even cheaper laptops come with them but in extremely small sizes like 32gb where there's barely any room for a few apps after windows updates

Yeap SSD but as said before it is running IDE instead AHCI, that said its not performing as it should, its like if you have a car running with Diesel but it has been designed to run with Gasoline.
