Deepcool Launches MF 120 Aluminum Frameless Smart RGB Fan Set

DEEPCOOL, the company that specialises in feature rich cases and cooling systems for the PC enthusiast has just introduced an exciting new smart fan set featuring frameless fans with RGB lighting and a WIFI compatible controller.

The Deepcool MF120 fan set includes three fans with vibration damping capabilities, and also gets a front side features a seamless all-in one skeleton frame made with 100% aluminum alloy. Its unique frameless design together with double-layer blade can generate positive air pressure and deliver maximum airflow with zero hindrance from the fan structure. The PWM fans can be active between a silent 500 rpm up-to a hefty 2200rpm. These are Fluid Dynamic Bearing fans.



Deepcool MF120 is also a smart fan and its controller can be wirelessly connected via WIFI to a user's smartphone (Apple/Android) to control fan speed and lighting modes, including a number of preset options. A built-in 1.67M true color RGB lighting system is controlled by the dedicated multi-function controller. Five built in lighting effects (dynamic, static, breathing, comet, and fashion collision) provide 36 interchangeable lighting modes.

Not always Arctic cooling have a good design for the most part ( the rubber can rote over time ), there is at least one other company who does a good open design and just don't recall right now.

Cooler Master made open frame case fan few years back called turbine master. Dont if any other manufacturers made open frame fans.

I do hope someone reviews these with some sort of smoke (incense sticks usually work) to show airflow paths. I suspect the majority of air would go out to the sides when there's no frame to guide airflow, as that's the path of least resistance for the air (aligned with the shape of the fan blades and all, so no "need" to be pushed forward by the blades). Of course this would depend on the case and mounting too, as it might all work out in a relatively closed-off mount. Ought to be useless for any open-air build (which looks to be what they're made for) though. Oh, and these should be utterly awful if you try to stick them on a radiator.

True, their more skeletal frame, Zalman did a fan were the motor fixed to the frame of a heatsink, a lot of video cards fans are done like this. And the shroud of the graphics card would be the rest of the fan but most are just thin and not wall like around the fan.

Would be kinda cool if the idea was adopted to a case, maybe the idea is bad which why we don't see it i could not say but i do like it just because it's different.

Which maybe good for some front design cases were they are glass. But if this was the case they should of said in there finding's to stop the wrong people buying them. They not giving what the fan is best for which looks like pretty much nothing should of said and them not saying any thing makes me suspect.

I was shocked when I discovered Corsair's multi-packs of ML RGB fans were around $100. I'll stick to my $20 Noctuas and Gentle Typhoons and $25 Silent Wings, thank you.

And I feel like I paid as fuck for my 4x ML120 @ 60eur for my 240 rad.

I'll be more than happy to look at pictures of these fans online. Other people can buy them and I'll say wow, and golly!
But no way am I going to spend 100 bucks on a case fan.
