The Intel 600p SSD is one of the more affordable M.2 PCIe x4 based NVMe drives on the market. It uses an SMI controller paired with Intel's own 3D TLC flash. Despite the relatively low synthetic results, our real-life testing shows that the drive is a decent choice for typical consumer workloads.

I am a little suprised W1zz. We both know this drive is obsolete and i'm really confused about how this review even accured now.
I'm taking it that the 760P is already in your possession and you're testing it as this review is up?

I asked Intel for SSDs to review, they sent me the 600p

That's... kind of hands-off IMHO. I got the "we can send you a 760P" message about a month a go.
IDK how much time a review spends in the making and in the queue, but that's just like reviewing a GTX 980 a month after the GTX 1080 came out.

The 600P is just as obsolete and recommended as last gen GPU for the price of a new one. :confused:

This comes from a place of care and concern. I love TPU, but this is just odd.

That was their offer roughly 2 weeks ago. I hope to get the 760p at some point in the future, so these 600p results can at least serve as comparison

As long as the drive is still being sold, it doesn't hurt to see where it stands today.

Have owned the 256GB model for over an year, and I don't have anything bad to say about this. Have installed a heatsink (Alphacool M.2 heatsink) to it and no more throttling.

I purchased mine for $169 but If I had to do it again, I would've picked 850 EVO instead.
