edited after the 24 hour lockout
The current system seems to be working well, we get maybe 1 or 2 unlock/change requests per week

Getting tiring not receiving alerts to threads I have watched or emails informing me that there has been a response. Id say about 90% of the time, I dont receive anything on either end and end up finding out on my own.

Just saw this error, fixed on refresh:
Fatal Error: Connection refused in Visitor.php:73
Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: A second app cannot be setup. Tried to set TPU_App after setting TPU_App in /home/techpowerup/www/include/Visitor.php:73 Stack trace: #0 /home/techpowerup/www/include/Visitor.php(80): TPU\Visitor->__construct() #1 /home/techpowerup/www/include/Visitor.php(112): TPU\Visitor::getInstance() #2 /home/techpowerup/www/include/ErrorHandler.php(76): TPU\Visitor::get('username') #3 /home/techpowerup/www/include/ErrorHandler.php(47): TPU\ErrorHandler::sendEmail(Array) #4 [internal function]: TPU\ErrorHandler::captureException(Object(Exception)) #5 {main} thrown in /home/techpowerup/www/include/Visitor.php on line 73

Finally! someone who gets the same issue as I do.

Still having issues with the way comments work with quoting and editing them.

1) Can't quote original post in forum by staff news. Have to manually add it. Copy & Paste add quotes

2) Copy & paste a quote and it import with font size. You highlight and add "quote" from toolbar you post or try to edit. It will keep front size of original if the new inserted quote is different and anything editing from the original highlighted quote sentence is split. Even if manually you try to delete "quote". It will keep splitting them up.

The quoting tool screws with editing if its not in a finished state. If you manage to finish editing and highlight the entire quotes entries as a single quote and use the quote tool in a finish state then its fine but If you comeback to edit it, like come back to add text or insert image nothing to do with the quotes themselves. It reverts back to split quote entries like its logged in quote toolbar memory. You have to redo every quote as a single entry so it displays properly, font size, non-split quoting.

Be much easier if the toolbar quoting doesn't over ride manual quote editing.

Not really sure it is an issue exactly, but sometimes I click Like on a comment on the forums and I get asked if I really want to like that comment... If I remember correctly it happened when I clicked Like on this comment https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...livery-schedule-impacted.242798/#post-3821027

It happens very sporadically. Does it have anything to do with some sort of reputation system or the content of the comment?

Could you please grab a screenshot or take a Snip (Click Start > Type Snip > drag box around area you want to save a screenshot of and save > Upload ) the next time you experience that?

If you use the rate +1 does it popup as well? Just FYI, rate +1 has the same effect as a like as-far-as like features are concerned from what W1z has stated before.

There you go. From what I can gather, it seems that when I pressed the Like button, instead of liking the comment, it redirected me to a page ending with "posts/3821027/like" (the Like button contains this link), which is weird because it normally doesn't do that. I don't think it is because of me using Edge on my phone (Lumia 640 XL / W10 Mobile), because I have liked comments before on this device, without being redirected to a special page.

Still, I tested it just now on another thread on my phone. Rate and Like features worked fine, no redirections and I got the confirmation almost instantly, without refreshing the page.

EDIT: I had to check the browsing history to get this info. So, I can't really replay whatever caused this to happen.

Yup, two database servers crashed at the same time for no apparent reason. I rebooted everything and things recovered perfectly fine.

but sometimes I click Like on a comment on the forums and I get asked if I really want to like that comment.
Like when you middle click on the like link (open in new window) ?

Middle clicking is not required it does it by default. It's got to be some type of function built into xenforo. But it only happens when somethings going on like you're updating or working on the server. I noticed that when he posted that question about the liking function there were several other posts about 504's etc. so I just assumed it was like the other times it's happened.

The way it happens (from my encounters)is you go to click like, And when you do ,it goes to another page w/ a pop up window and it says something like "are you really sure you want to like this post ?"

The function depends on JavaScript. So if there's a JS error on the page or you have JS disabled then this could happen

that may be true, im not able to say yes or no, as im ignorant on of Java, but i have noticed it only happens when something is going on with the site for myself. i dont know if that helps, but its not that big a deal, since as i mentioned, it only happens very rarely, i think 3 times for me in total, and all can be traced to an event with the server, so no sweat.

Oh cool...When I middle click Like it opens a new tab asking to confirm...Not sure why I'd do any of that but it does it...neat

oh, apparently now it doesit as a function of middle click too, i wasnt aware of that.

The highlighted areas (back ground to text) such as guidelines in https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/forums/buy-sell-trade-giveaway-forum.43/
TOP 4 STICKIES are now a very washed out grey when they were a yellow previously.

Did something break?
Can we get a much bolder color for these areas? (not washed out)

I think this should be added to forum guidelines, Thread Necroing, I just let someone know they posted in a topic from 2010 that most users haven't been around since then...

Agreed. It's surprising it is not mentioned.

It doesn't bother me if people post in a necro thread. What's seems more important is relevance, so as long as the thread is still relevant to now and the post is relevant to the thread, I don't see a problem with it.

However when they ask a question and those members in that thread haven't been around since that posting, makes no sense to keep it open.
